I enjoyed the movie. My expectations were pretty low going in because of the reviews, so I was nicely surprised with it. Apocalypse was better than I thought he would be, and McAvoy & Fassbender were good as usual. Quicksilver was great. That whole scene with him saving everyone in the mansion was pretty darn well done, and fun. And Sophia did a better job than I figured she would playing Jean. And at first I thought she was just going to jump into the psychic battle and help Xavier beat Apocalypse in that realm, but as soon as Xavier told Jean not hold back anymore, I think we all knew she was about to go full freaking Phoenix on Apocalypse's arse. And her going full Phoenix didn't disappoint. The Phoenix aura around her looked awesome.

Even though Mystique shouldn't be leading the X-men, Lawrence wasn't too bad in this movie, and at least she didn't play a major roll in defeating Apocalypse outside of convincing Eric to turn on him (and since their relationship had been established in the past two movies, it wasn't out of character for her to be able to talk to him). I wasn't that impressed with Munn and the Psylocke character. And while I'm glad that they finally gave Cyclops a bigger role, I'm not sure I think Tye Sheridan was the best choice for the roll. But none of the characters really suck bad enough to hurt the movie. All in all, it was a pretty decent comic book movie.

Fun movie and I really liked it overall. Jean Grey, Quicksilver and Cyclops were great, Magneto was of course awesome, and Prof X was Prof X. Too much Katniss but that's what they get for casting JLaw and the price tag that comes along with her.

Would recommend. Looking forward to the next installment.

How's Wolverine, Jackman's second to last time in the role so I'm curious.

It's a really quick scene, they help him escape from the weapon x facility. He just starts going berserk on all the guards. It's a cool scene.

Although I didn't think her acting was as bad as everyones saying, her character is just getting farther and farther away from being mystique. She was basically a normal looking human for 90% of the film. That just wasn't mystique.

Just saw it and I really enjoyed it. Rotten tomatoes gets most movies right in their ratings but they definitely dropped the ball on this one as it was pretty damn enjoyable, had a decent plot and while the character development was kind of low, they more than made up for it with the very very unique way they took down Apocalypse. I also chuckled at the blatant reference to Star Wars. It was a classic X-Men movie.

Gripes are indeed character development, quite a few plot holes like Phoenix coming out of the blue so soon and treating Havok's death like it was supposed to have some huge profound effect on us and Mystique continues to look like a lizard with greased down hair.

All in all, pretty enjoyable movie and while not being as great Captain America, it was still serviceable. If Batman v Superman was at least this good, it would be blow past a billion dollars but it probably wouldn't reach 2 billion.

As much as I hate to agree with the DC fanboys, they may have a point on the Marvel circle jerk. Marvel has its own tone now, and the fact that this movie wasn't that or as good as its predecessor, the critics automatically gave it a Rotten to spite it. And the reviews aren't all that negative, just that it's not as good as its predecessors. That is all its being judged on. This was just classic comics brought to the big screen. It's perfectly passable, and nothing that's truly terrible about it. If this were released 5 years ago, I think it would have been in the low 80s on the T-Meter.

The characters are well utilized, and I really love how they brought the new generation in. Yes Apocalypse isn't the best villain, but were they going to do him any better than this? He's a very hard character to adapt and I think is mostly a weak character as a base. I just don't know what people were expecting, because this was everything I was wanting from it.

Yes it was no Days of Future Past, Deadpool, or First Class, but that doesn't make it bad. It's a perfectly fine way to spend an evening and Singer gets the X-Men. Much more than I can say for Snyder and DC at large, which simply think that boring depressing characters is what the universe is all about.

And when you boil it down, this is the closest we've gotten to the comics with X-Men, save Mystique of course. She's fortunately not as prominent as the marketing has led us to believe, but Mystique leading the X-Men is utterly ridiculous. Mystique is best utilized as a freelance mercenary, which DoFP and the first half of Apocalypse did well with. Well utilized in the last one, but I find Mystique's position here ridiculous. Really shouldn't have been in the movie at all, since she adds nothing besides Magneto turning against Apocalypse.

If I remember correctly, didn't Emma Frost take over as the leader of the X-men for awhile in the comics? Wouldn't putting her in that role in this film have made more sense? It's been awhile since I read any of them.

Seeing how they killed her offscreen in the last movie, they couldn't just put her in this one. Plus, they weren't going to leave J-Law out of this movie.

Thought the movie was very good.

I enjoyed the jokes they cracked.

Quicksilver seems retarded fast. He saved about 50 people, and a sip of Tab, saved a dog, farted around, all in half a second.
It's like when I watch Arrow and I say "just call the Flash and this episode would be over in a second"
I still think he's awesome. But his speed seems like he would take out a lot of normal villains very easily.
Between him and Jean Grey, it's going to take some super villain from another planet to challenge them realisticly.

I really don't have any complaints about it, and i enjoyed it. Ready to see where this universe is going.

One question I have is will magneto, prof X, and storm have their full powers still that they had from Apocalypse influence? Magneto can literally destroy the earth now. And prof x can literally control everyone on the planet. Will they still be that powerful?

Quicksilver is retarded fast but that's ok Bc he's entertaining.

I'm still burnt out on Mystique but she wasn't overbearing.

Wolverine was great. He finally was shown as deadly as he's supposed to be.

Magneto was great but I am pretty tired of him and Xavier having the same exact argument every movie. Every single movie.

Seeing how she was the worst thing in First Class (worst performance out of all X-Men films), I'm glad that she's gone.
