I'd be willing to bet he'll be the next Wolverine villain.

I really hope so. Thing is, the guy who voiced Colossus in Deadpool would be spot on for Omega Red.

wish they would do The Pheonix Saga, but let's be real here, nothing is going to top Deadpool until possibly Deadpool 2 if they actually do it with Cable.

Mister Sinister lends himself well toward unleashing this. I think next movie will be Mister Sinister, and the one after that will be full blown Dark Phoenix.

Glad that they said, "frick it" and just went full Phoenix.

I remember Carson keeping on asking how they could beat Apocalypse, and it was always obvious to me and I expect most of us that it would be a combo of Magneto and Jean Grey. Granted I thought Magneto was going to be killed in this, but Phoenix is clearly the only one who truly stood a chance against him.

I don't see how they are going to do the Pheonix Saga with Shaw being dead..

They can bring someone else in to take Shaw's place in that story. It's not as if what we know about Shaw from First Class is indispensable to the story. If you need Shaw, you could have his son come into play. He possesses Kity Pryde like abilities where he's able to control his density, pass through people/object, and mutilate them from the inside killing them.

They did Days of Future Past without young Kitty Pride. They'll adjust.

This was an interesting take on Apocalypse. He was more soft spoken than I was expecting. I did enjoy him though. Oscar Issac's facial expressions were on point.

Evan Peters was amazing as Quicksilver once again. I did roll my eyes a bit when he started slapping Apocalypse around.

Seeing Weapon X was cool though I was disappointed they left the red lens off his headgear so you could see Hugh's face.

Seeing Jean go full Pheonix put a big smile on my face.

Only villain better than Simister would be Omega Red.

Didn't they brush up on him in Iron man 2???

Any voice can be good for Omega Red as he was a short lived villain (like by 4 years) but awesome during the weapon X program. I'm thinking someone sounding like Tim Curry from the movie "Legend" with a huge thick Rusky accent either from Russia or Ukraine

I thought it was awesome. Not a single complaint from me. One minor gripe was seeing Jackman in there albeit for only a short time.

Also I don't give a rats arse about any of those movie review sites. None of their stupid percentages are gonna sway me from watching a movie.

I don't understand why critics were so harsh. I enjoyed it.
I usually agree with most critic ratings but not on this one.

And this is a minor nitpick, but I don't buy that Moira wouldn't know about the events of First Class. Sure she may have had her memory wiped, but the CIA isn't going to pretend that didn't happen. They'd for sure badger her about that for years.

Same here. Not as good as the past 2, but still very enjoyable. I think this is what gives rise to all the conspiracy theories (which are dumb, I know) Critics shite on this movie, but ok Marvel films like AOU, Ant Man, etc have like 80% approval ratings on RT.

Yeah, no way this movie is worse than Age of Ultron. At least Apocalypse came off as an actually threat and was brutal as hell.

I liked this one better than DoFP. The stories still seem to be focused around Magneto and 'just how powerful he really is', but that's ok.

Kudos to Fox for killing Havoc(maybe). Takes balls to kill off a well-known hero.

And Quicksilver seems destined to steal the show every time. Loved Psylocke. She looked like she was ripped from the comic books. Good movie. 3 out of 5 stars. A few notes:

Looks like we are all good with wide-scale destruction now? I would estimate several million got killed by Magneto maybe? I'll ask the same of this like I did Bucky in CA:CW: Will he be held responsible, or are we going with the tried, tired, but true notion that he was 'under the influence/brain-washed'?

Ah it's a comic book movie. Who cares. And this was not better than AoU. The Vision reveal and him picking up Thor's hammer trumps anything any Xmen movie has ever done.

Also: Quicksilver scenes are cool, but he may just be too fast. Really doesn't seem much need for anyone else if he can move that fast

I think that was Singer correcting what he might have seen as a mistake in Vaughn's First Class.

This isn't just my inner DC talking, but I really think that critics are more forgiving to Marvel Studios films based on their knowledge that the general audiences flock to them. It's not on the same level as Pixar (I think that way more people know Pixar as a brand than the number that can differentiate between a Marvel Studios film and a Fox Marvel film) but I think some critics are hesitant to be too critical of Marvel Studios movies.

Made 8.2 last night on previews

quote:

“X-Men: Apocalypse” earned a stellar $8.2 million on Thursday, dominating “Alice Through the Looking Glass.”

The preview figure — from 3,565 U.S. locations — is a near match to “X-Men: Days of Future Past’s” Thursday night debut of $8.1 million in 2014.

Fox’s “X-Men: Apocalypse” hauled five times more than the Thursday night total of Disney’s “Alice Through the Looking Glass,” which opened with $1.5 million. “Alice’s” audience was 51% female, with the 26 to 34 demo leading the way with 31%, followed by the 17 to 25 group with 22% and the 35 to 49 segment with 19%.

The ninth entry in the “X-Men” superhero franchise is expected to win the Memorial Day weekend with early forecasts showing an $80 million-plus launch at 4,148 locations at the U.S. box office. Recent estimates indicate that “Alice Through the Looking Glass” will open with as much as $60 million over the four days.
