I'm going to go with an underrated horrible dad, Denethor II, former Stoward of Gondor in ROTK.

All poor Faramir wanted to do was make his dad proud. Shunned him and thought he was a POS and couldn't touch Boromir the wonder boy.

Its the other way around. the prince's homosexuality and non-bellicose nature (unkingly in that era) is what caused the king's disappointment and abuse.
