Robert Redford and Glenn Close in The Natural

particularly the beginning scenes where they were supposed to be around 20

actually Glenn Close in anything where she is supposed to be attractive to anybody - seriously, if I was ever married to somebody who looks like Anne Archer the first thing I would do is troll for somebody who looks like Glenn Close?

hahaha

I liked him as the one armed rock climber. You remind me though of Tobey as spiderman, Kirstin dunst as Mary Jane. I nominate them.

Diane Keaton in the Godfathers.

Terrible acting, total sourpuss, doesn't fit the mood of the pictures, doesn't match...and she completely sucks and battles Talia Shire in the contest of women trying to neuter men.

Almost ruined the movies for me...was hoping she would blow up in the car or go for a boat ride.

I don't care for Diane Keaton either. Even worse than her appearances in The Godfather films, she comes very close to ruining several early Woody Allen comedies

FWIW this is the actress Coppola supposedly wanted to cast as Kay:

I saw the movie when it came out and that made no sense to me

As far as Sofia Coppola in The Godfather Part III, that wasn't her fault, nor was it her father's fault. Winona Ryder was originally slated to play Michael Corleone's daughter but backed out literally the day before she was scheduled to begin shooting. Coppola had no other choice but to give the part to his daughter because she was literally the only female around the age of the character who was available.

Cameron Diaz in Gangs of New York

Don't see why she is miscast per say, but she just had absolutely no role in the story. A love interest was absolutely unnecessary in the film and took away from the plot.

bullshite. Anything Nic Cage is in makes the film better by default. I'm a big Nic Cage supporter.

Bosworth in Superman. This is the winner. She was way too young to play Lois Lane, but even worse playing Lois Lane with a 5 year old kid which would make Superman guilty of statutory rape.

Agreed. I think its a commanding first place, which is saying alot. She had absolutely none of Lois' personality, and she looked 18. I always think of Lois Lane as a bit older than Superman really.

in that movie , the worst casting was the fricking benz, since in the book he got a bmw. I mean REALLY?

worst actor/actress casting? Dakota Fanning in War of the Worlds. I know we were all supposed to go "oh save the little girl" but in reality we were all thinking "give that bitch to them"

actually i change my vote to the Transformer clown being cast as Indy's son. WTF?

trolling?

I somewhat agree. Not terrible casting, but Brosnan was a very generic James Bond.

He was the perfect Bond, yet the worst Bond at the same time. He's what you think when you think "Bond". However Bronsnan's Bond has no grit, which clearly separates him from Craig and Connery, without question the two best Bonds.

Roger Moore

Why does bond have to be a fighter? "grit"...agents should be clever and stealthy...why do they have to beat up 5 dudes and kill another 20 with a pistol?

Moore was an agent who was always the underdog in a fight....my choice as best Bond.

ETA: and he looked English....Sean and this new guy look too blue collar Scottish/Irish street hooligans.....IMO they wouldn't pass the sniff test at all the up-scale events Bond frequents under cover.

quote:

Fleming decided Bond should look a little like both the American singer Hoagy Carmichael and himself and in Casino Royale, Vesper Lynd remarks, "Bond reminds me rather of Hoagy Carmichael, but there is something cold and ruthless." Likewise, in Moonraker, Special Branch Officer Gala Brand thinks that Bond is "certainly good-looking ... Rather like Hoagy Carmichael in a way. That black hair falling down over the right eyebrow. Much the same bones. But there was something a bit cruel in the mouth, and the eyes were cold."

Moneyball. If they could of gotten someone with genuine charisma to play Billy Beane that would of been a classic movie.

It's funny you named this..I thought exactly the same thing. In the book (which I read before seeing the movie) she was described as an absolute knockout...when i saw the movie I was like "wtf??

Same here which I guess is why I was so disappointed with her. Idk..maybe if I hadn't read it first, it wouldn't have been so bad.
