I saw a article earlier today that quoted Pitt as saying they could do a sequel because they had plenty of book material left to work with. I wholeheartedly agreed since they only used the title.

So the soldier in Korea that was limping. Was he passed by because of the limp or did he have a disease too?

Because if it was just a limp, why even infect yourself? Couldn't everyone just hobble around or would the infected sense that you were really healthy?

He must have had some underlying serious disease. The zombies were still coming after the girl even though she had lost a hand

I wonder what disease the wino had, because they just ran past him as well. Alcoholism?

New strategy for surviving the zombie apocalypse: Get and stay very, very drunk.

Yeah, it was silly and as I stated earlier seemed like a cop out. It's like they didn't know how to end the film and just said frick it. Of course, I've read where that wasn't the original ending and they did a reshoot. I can only imagine how bad the ending they didn't go with was.

the original ending would have been money and much better than the one they eventually settled on but hey its hollywood.

Well at least the ending took a little bit from the book with people fighting back. Overall I liked the movie but it seriously lacked zombie slaughter.

went see it last night

basically VERY different from the book

the purpose of the book was to give you a story about how all these different cultures and societies handled the Zombies

instead we got to see what happened in about 4 countries: US, South Korea, we heard about North Korea (which didnt line up with the book), Israel, and wherever the hell the WHO office was

As a stand alone movie, i found it entertaining, but not a great movie by any means

The scene in Israel was so fricking stupid in my mind

You've got this giant wall, have been keeping them outside for days and you havent noticed yet that they're attracted to sound?

And the "vaccine" ending was obviously completely different from the book too.

like i said, as a stand alone movie i thought it was ok

but it looks like the only thing they took from the book was the title and "zombies"

I enjoyed it but this was my problem with the movie. It didn't show any fighting back till the very end and for 5 seconds.

Still haven't seen the movie yet, but finally just finished the book.

Would def want to see the Battle of Hope or even the underwater sub from China.

I think thats the part that intreged me the most about the book, was that zombie herds migrated underwater.

If not seeing those things would ruin the movie for you, don't see it. If you can view the movie as being completely disconnected from the book, you may enjoy it.

Yeah, if I was an Israeli soldier, that bitch with the megaphone would have gotten the stock of my AR to the jaw with the quickness.

I enjoyed World War Z the movie but thought it would have been so much better including a couple of the battles in the book. The zombies were much better than I thought they would be. I kind of liked how they made use of the research center zombies by making them more like traditional zombies until stimulated. It kind of had the best of both worlds in that way.

Yeah I enjoyed that too. Enhanced the creepiness factor seeing them shamble but knowing how fast those frickers were. You get spotted, you can't just jog away--yo arse is grass.

just saw it.

I liked the origin story and the overall story line, but they could have made it half an hour longer and actually had a third act instead of a Bourne Legacy-esque abrupt ending and "see you in the sequel."

Either way, super zombies might be the climax of the zombie craze. I knew we'd eventually get to this place, and now we've reached the end of the formula. Maybe they can get more intelligent as well, a la Land of the Dead, but that's about it.

I hope they eventually make a movie based on the book World War Z.

With that said, if you call it "Zombie Movie" in your head, it is a pretty enjoyable summertime popcorn flick.

I saw it last night. It was ok. I liked the book better, but I know it would of been almost impossible to make a movie based on the book. I just don't dig super zombies who are smart. The book zombie is more what I think of.

This is basically the best summary I can think of

Edit: Here is a good podcast for discussion on the movie & the book. It is about an hour long.
