I'm 1hr 1/2 in and it's just now getting some action. I felt like they spent the first 30-45 minutes telling us it's set in 1984. Pretty campy so far. CGI bad. Will DC ever get to the level of Marvel in movie making?

WB poor. They don’t have the Mouse’s frickoff money. The Mando has better CGI. I don’t get it. This was another solid effort.

1. Gal Gadot is the most attractive female on this planet.
2. Chris Pine the heart of the WA movies so far. Dude is good with comedic elements.
3. Another mediocre finish. Yikes. WB needs better CGI folks. That’s two films with bad fights. There isn’t a DCEU film with good CGI action. It’s all bad. It’s so distracting.

At this point I wanna see Disney do a DC film because goddamn. Get your shite together.

Did like the invisible jet sequence. Seems they splooged their load on that sequence because it was gorgeous and everything else looked cheap as hell.

DC has too many good villains to keep fricking up their villains.

Very Chris Reeves Superman sequel vibe.

The wishes and Duke of Deception stuff is right out of the sillier Golden Age Wonder Woman era.

Too much forced into this. The Asteria armor, Cheetah, invisible jet (though the invisibility being the same source as Paradise Island’s cloak of invisibility was a good take).

Post credits scene was a nice touch.

I liked it, not as good as the first, but still a solid flick.

As good as Aquaman.

I don't know...
I thought it was a fine movie.
There was some CGI stuff I didn't care for with the girl fight but overall it wasn't bad.

It's setting made it so the whole world could go to shite without a superman or batman to fix things.
It also erased a ton in the moment so her story wouldn't be so well known in the present.

It was just a story of the monkey's paw, with a superhero as the background. It also gives wonderwoman more back story on being right up there with Superman as a friggin boy/girl scout.

Learning who she is and the sacrifice it takes in her place of power.
Obviously the next time we see her is popping out of nowhere to help fight doomsday so it's just giving a little backstory.

It didn't have to be some big boss fight film. It didn't have to have the weight of the rest of the DC team. All of the characters had flaws and a reasonable inspiration for their decisions.

Now, I will say there was a lot of disbelief in some character attributes.
I.e. Steve knowing how to fly a plane 60 years in advancement.
Cheetah being able to go toe to toe with a warrior bred for it.
Some wishes taking a little more time to happen while the more life threatening were immediate.

But that's comic book stuff.

I put this movie on par with Iron Man 2.
Not as much fun, but advanced the character enough

She starts this movie as pessimistic and cold and antisocial. Almost bitchy. She has to sacrifice her love to get her strength back then after beating the cheetah uses the whip to get every single person who made a wish to renounce it?

Yea. A lot of the charm of the first was the cheery naive optimism Diana had. Gal played that perfectly. No interest in mopey Diana.

What failed in this one is they tried to replicate the campy success of Shazam. That tone just doesn’t work with WW as well. You also don’t have Zach Levi to pull it off.

quote:

Oh, and WW learns to fly, does her Superman pose, and love. We should all hold hands, because love. This movie is crap.

Yea. This cop out ending/solution is getting tiresome. Didn’t even feel earned.

They tried to do the whole "Not another teen movie" thing with Wiig

They tried to do the Pfiffer Catwoman thing. Michelle was far more believable as the crazy cat lady than Wiig was.

Bloated. Definitely bloated.

Jenkins has a pretty good vision for her films but she needs better creatives around her for the script. And the goddamn Hack Snyder slomo is getting really old.

It was a “fun” movie to watch, but will largely be forgettable. Definitely not in the class of the first film. Pretty disappointing. Another DCEU sequel miss.

These movies will need to be leaps and bounds better. Gal is still Gal. But without Pine to play off of... wow.

Lots of little details either the script didn’t care about or the editing let down. Just two early on that took me out of the movie-

Opening amazon competition. One lady falls off the pedestals. They literally all reach the horses (except Diana) at the same time and no leftover horse for a person either no longer competing or delayed.

Mall robbery - why are the mall cops looking at the black guy and guy with the white hair spiked? By the time a gun was seen they had already walked away. No way for anyone to know they were bad guys let’s alone mall cops just stumbling into it.

Yes small things but there are other items like this that just show some real lazy writing or editing.

Overall it’s not a bad movie but small things take away from the experience and your ability to lose yourself in it

That’s quite possibly one of the worst super hero movies I’ve seen

I have a feeling people are trying to find reasons to like this - and I just can’t figure out why. It was just . . . not very good - actually stupid in all kind of ways.

Agreed. And I loved the first, liked Aquaman, and could even tolerate the MOS, BVS, and JL shitshow.

This was just lazy. It tried to be cute in the beginning. The mall scene was terrible. Kristen Wiig's character was cliché. And Pascals character was crap.

It was just not a good movie at all.

Gal Gadots beauty goes a long way in polishing a turd.

I’d give both my nuts and my soul to hear her fart through a walkie.

They screwed up her origin.

In the comics, Barbara Minerva gets her powers the way Black Panther gets his, but the ritual goes horribly wrong. Basically, she agrees to take on the role of guardian of a certain African tribe and drinks the potion...but because she isn't a virgin...

What the movie version of Diana does do, however, is show how she is a perfect match for Bruce Wayne.

Excellent film.

I know the saps around here are wowed by the explosions and juvenile humor from the flicks that marvel makes. They are fanboys that buy up all the dolls and leave them in their packaging to retain its value. Get all hopped up on Mountain Dew and then go crazy while iron man blows up a building while cracking wise.

They cannot appreciate the depth that DC puts into its films. not surprising but still disappointing.

Thought it was a pretty dull movie. I did not find myself (nor my family watching it) were entertained.

See.. is that the direction to go? I thought the new 52 was supes and Diana?

Although, I would love a live action wonder woman and aquaman takeover

In one version, she has a son with Superman named Hunter Prince...in another, a daughter named Elissa Prince-Wayne with Batman.

She also has a twin brother named Jason.

Yep. People are jumping this movie for being corny with bad cgi. That was my take on Aquaman.

This is not near as good as the first one. I wouldn't call it a bad movie, but they definitely should've spent more time cleaning it up

I just watched and only have 3 things to say L O L. That was embarrassing. These studio execs are so lost. It’s cringe. Glad I watched this for free
