It's really interesting to see this unfold. A lot of black celebrities are taking the stance opposite of Spike Lee and the Smiths. This morning the entire Ricky Smiley Morning Show cast said the Smiths are delusional and should spend their time fighting for real causes. They're viewed as posers in Hollywood. It was a really interesting listen. They also said Will Smith was on Good Morning America this morning trying to claim that this is sending the wrong message to black kids. These people are fricking clueless.

I'm not sure why they want to be given an award simply because they're black....but I am also not sure why Hollywood's racism is any of our problem. I would think as an actor, the biggest award is people watching your movie, but these are some giant egomaniacs we're talking about.

Oh lawd, because black kids aren't inundated with scores of black glory through athletics? Not to mention, there will be FAR more blacks become successful through athletic pursuits than any acting pursuit. Shut these people down. They speak too much and too fast, and do not listen enough.

They just need to break down the demographics or Hollywood, and its their fault for choosing a racist profession if they dont like it.

I think they should include a black person in every single category. Under their name where they list the movie they had a role in, they should also add a subtitle "token minority nomination".
