Will Redskull ever return in the Avengers movie series?

Just wondering. He is a great villain and kind of went out in a whimper in CA. He didn't die, just sucked into the other dimension.

It really felt like they were going to bring him back for the first Avengers but it seems like Hugo Weaving isnt on board?

I hope when they go cosmic, he gets brought back. I would love to see a cosmic powered Red Skull wreck stuff in the MCU.

I would've preferred him over the Baron Zemo that they had in CW.

The whole Loki-uses-the-chitauri-to-take-over-Earth plot makes a lot more sense with the Red Skull instead. It always bothered me that Loki gave a damn about Earth at all, he really wanted Asgard. But the Red Skull would have done anything to have absolute power over Earth.

Yeah, it was really set up that way. Skull gets blasted into the cosmos which would then give him an opportunity to meet the Chitauri and possibly Thanos. It just makes a better story.

As I mentioned in the CA thread I would love to see him brought back. Cosmic powered Red Skull would be great. Maybe he can pop up in the two part avengers movies but doubtful. Hugo Weaving is such a great actor it feels like they are missing out. I'm Loki'd out for awhile.
