Great call on haley in little children.
I think the most uncomfortable I've ever been was when I was either 15 or 16 and watching chasing Amy with my girlfriend when her mother walked into the bedroom to "check on us", and it just so happened to be the scene where they were going into great detail about cunnilingus. That was really uncomfortable for everyone involved.

Took a chick to see "The Killing Fields" in college. Real uplifting movie.

Didn't know about the rape scene in Irreversible and watched it with my gf (at the time) who had been molested as a little girl. The whole movie is pretty fricked up but I actually fast forwarded after a couple minutes of that shitty rape scene.
Some of these others on here have me intrigued. I just read the description of Little Children and it sounds pretty weird, kinda stupid. The castration part sounds uncomfy though
I have not seen Serbian Film, Salo, or Happiness and am wondering if I should...

My late grandmother, who went to church every day, and my aunt, a nun, took my little 10 year old sister to see Valley of the Dolls because they thought it was a childs movie about dolls.

I remember seeing From Dusk Till Dawn with my mom in the 5th grade. The part where Danny Trejo yells out all of the different kinds of pussy that was offered at the Titty Twister; talk about uncomfortable

I watched the car accident scene in The Blind Side with a girl who killed a person drinking and driving...

You know, I'd really love to hear what makes Kevin Smith uncomfortable around his mom. I'm quite sure the cunnilingus scene wouldn't even move the needle.

Why are all these disgusting movie where you eat fecal matter, have on screen rape , and a multitude of wrongess are always considered "Art" and always "critically acclaimed" While block buster movie like avengers and holly wood flicks that try to tell a story with great effects are "less intelligent."
I mean seriously?

My gf's mom rented shame, her friend told her it was a good movie. She didn't know what it was about, nor did my Gf or I at the time. We watched the movie with her parents. My god, it was the slowest hour and a half of my life, it was beyond uncomfortable in every possible way. A movie about a sex addict.... I wanted to kill myself. Sex scene, sex scene, masturbating in a stall, sex scene, masturbating again, sex scene.

Why do you suppose people endure the awkwardness for such a long period of time? Is acknowledging the subject matter and walking away a tacit admission of some sort? Or does sharing one's uncomfortable feeling increase the "intimacy" as opposed to just suffering in silence? When despite my best efforts I find myself trapped, I just pretend to fall asleep. It doesn't happen much anymore as I've gotten good at avoiding such situations.

Stuff like Human centipede is so over the top you cant take it seriously. KIDS is a much more 'uncomfortable' film

These were actually good movies, but I'll add Angel Heart and Seven to the list.

I try not to watch movies that are effed up like that because I enjoy sleeping at night.
That being said, one of the most uncomfortable moments in movies I remember is the dinner scene in the Family Stone with SJP,. I cringed for the rest of the movie.

My family wanted me to watch American Pie with them when I was like 12 or something.
Before it started, I protested, saying "I'm pretty sure there's nudity and sex and stuff in it."
My sister said I was wrong.
I wasn't.
I still can't watch that movie.
