My favorites as well.

I also like Kathleen Madigan and Stephen Wright.

Comedians who base their entire act on their weight can't be funny for long.

Have you even watched his standup before? John Pinette bases the majority of his act on eating and being overweight but not Iglesias or even Ralphie May.

Iglesias does sound effects almost as good as Michael Winslow and has a relatively clean act that can be accessible for younger audience members.

His weight was barely mentioned in his Hawaii performance.

For his five minutes on the origin of golf alone he should never be on a sucks list.

I am continually coming across excellent stand up routines on netflix by people I had never heard of.

Very serious.

Carlin is ok...but nowhere near the greatest.

I will crack a smile at his fairly obvious observations from time to time...but I never belly laugh at any of his bits.

I loved his first two television performances but that Detroit special was absolutely terrible at times.

Can be really obnoxious or really clever, it just depends.

Sooooo fricking overrated.

All of these comedians have had multiple performances that are fantastic and are not one-trick ponies.

George Carlin
Richard Pryor
Eddie Murphy
Robin Williams
Bill Hicks
George Carlin
Jim Carrey
Sam Kinison
Louis C.K.
Mitch Hedberg
Daniel Tosh (his schtick may have actually gotten old but he really is talented)
Ron White (only tolerable member of that abortion of a comedy tour)
Ralphie May
Ricky Gervais
Chris Rock (until recently)

He's probably the wittiest comedian ever to grace the stage and his longevity is unparalleled. He never recycled his previous material and every special he would create an entirely new routine.

Which of his performances have you watched?

Amy Schumer
Nate Bargatze is entirely too underrated, but he'll explode soon now that he's business partners with Fallon.
Chelsea Peretti
Hannibal is probably the best non-superstar.

And has no one brought up Bo Burnham yet? He's probably my favorite comedic mind right now.

Pete Holmes
Kumail Nanjiani

and Bill Burr is arguably the biggest stand up act right now

I am a huge Burr fan, but I did not care for his latest show at the Civic. Maybe it was the fact I had to make a mad dash over to the arena for game 3 that had me semi distracted, but he went into a 20 minute long segment on women spending too much money that was neither funny nor original. It was just inflammatory to be inflammatory. Walked out early and didn't even feel bad. Not because of some moral high ground, but because I just wasn't entertained and would rather watch basketball for the 80th time this year. His opening comedian was solid though. The first 20 minutes were typical Burr and funny as well.

Tosh kills it in his specials. Although each one has been worse than the one before it. His first big set in Cali that got him started is awesome from start to finish

Both solid choices. I've been listening to the Comedy channels on XM lately. Stephen Wright is just so dry at times, but it is hilarious.

Jon Pinette
Jon Caparoulo
Ralphie May can be hilarious at times, overbearing at others
Some of the "southern" comics they play on the Foxworthy channel are good. I think her name is Jeanne Robertson, or Robinson. But every time one of her bits comes up I listen and laugh.

She is very good. More of a story teller than a classic comic. Her story about sending her husband, whom she calls "Left Brain" to the store to get ingredients for pound cake is great.
