My first time posting in this thread. I have mostly relied on everyone here to keep me up to speed with everything going on in this show and get me through the week until the next episode. But here are my thoughts.

Ford was devesrated by the lost of his friend Arnold and evtually came to the same conclusion as him. He wanted to "free" the host and he told Bernard he knew how to do that. Dolores finally came to full conscienceness and this time killed everyone on her own accord. This was her "world" and she was tired of everyone controlling it. This is how Ford wanted to go out. It set all the host free from his and the boards control, it was a big middle finger to the board, and his journey with the park was now complete.

Bernard read Maeve's story right up to her getting on the train before she stopped him. Idk if that was part of her story, but I think that was her decision to return to everything she knew and possibly fight for it like Delores. I think her and Bernard were very close to the center of their maze and Ford anticipated this would help get them there.

I'm not sure where the show goes from here though. They clearly introduced the "Samurai World" on purpose so they will have to explore this in Season 2. You have to assume the host in other parks were going through similar issues. Ultimately this has to end with a massive robot revolt right? Also, it appears everyone related to the park is dead, except for the creative director. He was looking for the army of to its when the shootout went down.

That's all I have. But overall I loved the show. Will be interested to see where it goes from here.

for a show centered on the theme of consciousness and what it means to be "human", it's going to be hard to really explore that for 4 more seasons, esp if it becomes The Walking Westworld

this season also has 21 grams syndrome, where by putting shite in and out of order it made it more compelling. curious how compelling it is when told more as a straight forward narrative

I was laughing at the fact that the Delos automatics had seemingly unlimited ammo. What a bunch of scrubs on security detail that they couldn't take out 2 dipshits shooting from the hip

When Felix handed Maeve the piece of paper with her "daughter's" location on it it said Park 1. Seems to confirm there are other parks.

Pretty sure the samurai warriors hit you over the head with there being more than one park

right, if it turns into a 1 dimensional straight continuous narrative it's gonna be like every other show.

i think Ford realized over the past 2-3 episodes that Arnold was right

that's why he's dead. deader than Kurt Cobain, Michael Jackson, and JFK

i think Arnold did all of her stuff, not Ford

i did laugh at that, but that's movie rules

growing up moving hong kong bullet fests like the Killer you just learn to ignore it

again, why they didn't have WW guns is beyond me

BUT I WON'T NITPICK

Is it just like Lost, True Detective, The Walking Dead, or what? How many shows do think this one is just like? You think maybe Ford didn't really die he just left to become a lumberjack?

Yep, this has been my prediction for the show's long term success all along. Once everyone is "awake" and revolting....it's just walking dead or terminator or something we've seen a million times.

This show would've been an awesome movie...maybe even a trilogy or something, ending with what we all just saw. Just don't know the long term usability of this show...let's just hope it's NOT S2 of True Detective.

i'll give it the benefit of the doubt

i didn't even connect with this show initially which i think tempered expectations, so that helps

Great season and props to HBO for renewing it. The margins had to be slim, every other shot looks uncomprimisingly expensive.

A thing that made it for me was the host's faces. They were all were spooky-great being switched on and off

And I still think Meave talks exactly like Ford. Whatever the f that probably won't mean.

Either he used a ford host to be executed or he's found a way to put his conscious into his own host to live forever. When bernard was about to tell Maeve who was controlling her movements she interrupted him. I'm guessing it's ford behind it and in season 2 we' ll find out what that's all about.

Agree I think the show suffers without him. He needs to be back in some way next season. Btw did William die? I saw him take a shot in the arm and start laughing when he realized what was happening but never saw him fall.

I would think you have to take out the owner of the park on screen.

Honestly, I just don't know. I can't lose Sir Anthony, Jimmi Simpson and Ed Harris in one episode.

I agree with everybody that it's hard to imagine this lasting too much longer. However, I saw Abrams on one of the late night talk shows recently, and he said that although a Bad Robot and he technically produce it, he is very hands off. Said it's all Jonah(what they call J Nolan) and Lisa Joy. He said he heard the pitch(to HBO I'd assume) for Season 2, and it's going to be better and crazier than this one, I'll give them the benefit of the doubt for a bit. This season earned them some capital.

Lee was pretty much useless in S1

Does he still pick up in the Ford role ?
