I was a young teen when I first saw it. Gosh what was Lucas thinking? I mean jar jar really is as bad as everyone makes him out to be.

As a movie, TPM works a lot better than Attack of the clones. I am one of the few that thinks 1 and 3 are both decent movies. Nowhere near as good as the original trilogy. But decent. 2 is absolute garbage though. And Dooku would have been an alright villain if they didnt kill him off immediately in 3 and replace him with a coughing robot. Him being Qui-Gon's master was kind of interesting but they never even delved into that.

ETA: The pod race is fricking awesome. Anyone that denies that needs to get over themself.

They suck as a partnof the Star Wars universe. If they were stand alone movies, they aren't too much worse than a lot of movies we see these days

It was just weird how it all happened. One was my last day as a senior. One was on an Army base.

I'm trying to re watch the prequels before the new release. Attack of the clones will be hard to sit through

Same here. Watched them for first time in years and episode one is pure garbage

Portman and Jake Lloyd were god awful. So wooden and the lines were awful

Jar jar isn't even worth mentioning. So wrong

One is pretty much completely ruined by Jake Lloyd and Jar Jar. Without them it's an average action flick with tons of potential left on the table. attack of the clones was horrible in an uncomfortable way. Like couldn't stand to watch bad.

I just watched episode 1 tonight and introduced it to my 5 year old goddaughter. I've seen it a million times but it has been a few years. I really enjoyed it once again, especially the ending fight scene. My goddaughter loved it too. We are going to watch all 6 episodes in order.

It's an amazing film, nevermind the fact I haven't seen it since I was in the sixth grade. Thinking my opinion might change if I saw it now.

Probably will.

Does anyone appreciate seeing the base version of what the Galaxy was like before the empire took over?

Does anyone appreciate seeing Coruscant in its full glory for the first time ever after being completely absent from the Originals except for one quick shot at the end of ROTJ, what the Jedi council looked like before the Sith came to power, and others things we did not get the luxury of seeing in the originals?

That was a crappy Lucas re-release addition.

And I really don't appreciate seeing everything in its full glory because it was all way too cluttered. 1.2.3 were bad for a lot of reasons but they're shitty because Lucas had his new CGI toy and he went overboard with it. In case you want to give Lucas any benefit of the doubt he doubled down on shitty CGI in the re-releases and added useless clutter to a bunch of scenes.

Yeah you right, I forgot about that.

Still the point stands, I fricking loved the originals and I still consider the prequels as a net positive for the Star Wars mythology as the movies may not be well done and have very poor execution but we still got a rough idea out of it on what Lucas envisioned happened to the old order that the Sith took over and what the height of a free republic would look like throughout the Galaxy.
