So? That’s kind of things we should all be against. And it wasn’t against capitalism, it was against war for profit. You know, what Vietnam and all the wars in the Middle East that we have been involved in have been about. The United States has been running a welfare scheme for companies like Lockheed Martin for decades now.

1) Star Wars shouldn’t be the vessel in which to push your anti-war agenda. It’s called Star Wars for fricks sake. And it doesn’t add anything to the plot. It’s vietue signaling for the sake of virtue

2) Of course nobody is for slavery or animal cruelty. It’s the point that the ENTIRE SUBPLOT only accomplishes virtue signaling and does nothing to push the story further. It’s literally a huge portion of the movie dedicated to virtue signaling adding nothing to the overall plot of the film.

I can’t believe you are actually defending the one part of the film that’s universally despised for being pointless.

Completely missed why it was important to the plot and why it was needed for the Del Toro character.

It doesn't push the plot forward, correct. It's an expository element. It's used to flesh out the motivations of Rose.

Thank goodness we learned what makes the captivating Rose tick.

I might be trolling... a little bit. I really, really hate TLJ, though, so mostly not.

Here are my thoughts from watching TLJ for the first time since seeing it in the theatre...
Not a bad movie, but a bad Star Wars movie.
I wish they had Luke wanting to train Rey from the beginning, wanting to redeem his screw up with Ben.
Let Leia die, have Poe take her place redeeming himself, have Akbar perform the kamikaze mission.
Shorten the casino mission, make Lando the code breaker that they find in the casino, they don’t go to jail.
Rose sacrifices herself to destroy the cannon, just like her sister sacrificed herself to destroy the Dreadnaught.
Don’t have Snoke die, rework that some how.
I liked the force connection between Rey/Ben, I liked Yoda, I liked Luke’s force projection because it showed how badass of a Jedi he is but don’t have that kill him.

Mag I don’t know if you’re high AF, or just in a odd mood to double down on stupid, but in this thread you are fricking retarded. It’s actually painful reading such pathetic attempts at making points and then defending them ad nauseum.

Each his own. I won’t shite talk someone because they liked the movie, but I certainly won’t respect their opinion on the topic either.

When Rey hands the lightsaber to Luke, we see 3 quick flashbacks... Bespin, Death Star 2, and the burning Jedi temple. Luke looks at Rey with a serious face. He tells her I don’t know who you are but it’s time to get to work. However, he has the same attitude about the Jedi, that it’s time for them to end. He trains her as a Force User (Grey Jedi).

Here's the problem with your idea: if Luke cared at all about that lightsaber, he'd have sought it out.

Han brought Rey right too it. He could have brought Luke to it.

Rian Johnson's version of the reaction to it is more believable than what you wish it would have been.

So what's your problem with him tossing it away?

I frankly could care less if it was SJW or not. I disliked it because I thought it was poorly paced, poorly written, and a piss poor second part of a trilogy. It was also a pretty darn poor Star Wars movie.

I've gone into great detail about all of those topics on here before and frankly I'd prefer not to continue to beat that very dead horse into the ground any longer.
