It is not that women were leaders in the film, Star Wars is full of that and everyone is fine with it.

Not everyone. There is no shortage of people who have a problem with it.

Funny enough just watched this last night for the first time. Felt the movie was way too long for one. After two movies of Kylo Ren I still feel he sucks as a villain. I really don’t care about the political shite some are complaining about. Just very blah on the whole movie after watching it

I rewatched it the other day and also noticed how long it felt.

Kylo was badass when first introduced. Stopping the laser was cool. The more familiar he is, the less cool he is.

I found The Last Jedi to be a very disappointing movie.

I just finished watching TLJ:
The Good:
Alot of the planets were really beautiful
The bad:
They turned Luke into a bitch
Admiral Ackbar dies offscreen. WTF!!
Rose was an unnecessary character
The plot was boring
The only original character they kept alive is actually dead
Overall, it was pretty bad

When has a force sensitive character ever used that in space in any book or film? Leia has never shown to use the Force like that. She has only been capable of being able to connect to Luke telepathically. That scene was horrible. The whole movie was horrible.

Women being at the forefront isn’t the problem. It’s the fact that it’s blatant and none of the men have anything to do but be failures or are either evil. While the women have every heroic moment

They don't even realize they are guilty of making women seem weak when they can't stand alongside strong male characters.

Last Jedi was total crap and the SJW girl power angle was only a slice of the shite pie.

If the movie had a compelling plot, I wouldn't pay any attention to the SJW angle. Since the plot and execution of said plot sucked, it's easy to pick at all of the flaws and pile onto that garbage heap.

And I liked the flawed Awakened and really liked Rogue One. Hell, I can tolerate the prequels. I'm not super picky with the franchise but I loathe Last Jedi.

Rouge One is probably the most liked Star Wars movie outside the OT and the primary hero’s are a woman, an Hispanic 2 Asians (including a handi-capable blind dude) and a robot. The villains are 100% white guys. And no one cares or complains about that because it’s a good movie and they aren’t trying to beat you over the head with a message.
FIFY

And fully agree.

Nobody really complained about Rogue One having a female lead, nor TFA's Rey being a chick. Nobody cared that the other lead of TFA was a black guy.

(Nobody= No more than a handful)

It was an entertaining flick that seemed to generally respect the Star Wars mythos. Even if you hate that movie, you have to recognize that Abrams genuinely cares about Star Wars.

TLJ gives the impression that the director hates Star Wars and it's fans.

After some consideration, 99% of the crap in TLJ could have been either tolerable or worked into a decent storyline.
That includes both Holdo and Rose, and everything they did.

What makes this an unmitigated disaster was killing Snoke off, without any rhyme or reason. Once that occurs, the trilogy becomes unhinged. There's no villain anymore, and the primary one in TFA is gone without any backstory. Ren loses his chance to become a hero in the end, or a glorious antihero. He's just final proof that Qui Gon Jinn made a mistake in bringing the boy back to the Jedi Temple.

fricking Qui Gon.
Original Trilogy- Skywalker legacy is that they restored freedom to the galaxy

Overall Star Wars story- Skywalker legacy is total destruction of advanced civilization thousands of years in the making...
Anakin was the instrument that brought down the Republic.
Luke and Anakin bring down the Empire.
Kylo Ren, with an assist from Luke, lead to the destruction of the New Republic and then leave the First Order in tatters. If we were to get another generation, we might get back to the Stone Age.
