re: TWD 7 days away and no chatter? (NO SPOILERS, RETARDS!)

One of my main problems with TWD, and Dexter for that matter, is that characters do things as dictated by the plot as opposed to BB, Madmen, Sopranos etc., where the the plot moves where the characters take it. You see too much of the process in TWD and it affects my suspension of belief, which is crucial for enjoying a show about people getting eaten by dead people.

That isn't true. She talks about how she used to be a lawyer before the ZA. It also comes out that she knew her "pets" before the ZA.
I don't think she was a lawyer. I think that was Andrea.
But we did know that she knew who her "pets" were, and have gotten a little bit of backstory with her. We know from "Clear" that she used to talk to her dead boyfriend (one of her pets I think?) like Rick talked to ghost Lori. We also saw her bond a bit with Carl in that episode...I remember liking that episode because they actually showed some humanity with Michonne.
But overall, I do agree that they have slacked in her development as a character...especially when the previous season ended on such an imonous note with her appearing to be some huge, badass, important character.

You didn't know the Walking Dead was a graphic novel?

In the comics they were both lawyers. I could have sworn that Michonne talked about being a lawyer in her previous life this past season but I might be confusing the comic with the show.

what would chatter be about? Especially since the show and GN are different.

I don't know, maybe speculation by people that watch the show. Maybe. Dumb arse.

I like the show but the pace can be extremely slow sometimes. A lot of filler episodes where a minor incident is blown up to cover 48ish minutes + commercials.

Great, our first spoiler war.
Libertyabides et al., try to have some consideration for others with what you post. Just pretend that every time you post a spoiler Saban gets closer to leaving for Texas.

I agree I wish they had stuck to doing 8-10 episode seasons based on a comic arc.
1 - what we got with season 1
2 - Farm
3 - Prison
4 - Governor
5 - Hunters
so on. They could have even done two arcs a year ala the last season of Breaking Bad. But when Darabont planned Season 2 he originally wanted to show the wider world including an entire episode set in Atlanta during the start of the ZA following the military unit that the tank walker from Guts was a part of.

sorry it wasn't clear that it was to be spoiler free, I assumed chatter would be of course spoiler based.

Looks like you're new here so you didn't know any better. A lot of people haven't read the comics and they are adamantly opposed to hearing any information about upcoming events, people, or places that are in the comics and thus could potentially be on the show. It doesn't matter how far the show has or has not departed from the comics, they don't want to hear it. Just like with GoT, it's easier to just respect their wishes and keep any talk of the comics in the designated thread (there are usually 2 threads made for the show, one for comic readers and one for nonreaders). Unfortunately, it's the only way to keep the peace.

that is sorta weird because like I said the GN and the Kirkman/Darabont/Mazzara power struggles explains 90 percent of the criticisms.

This battle between readers and nonreaders has been fought for many years on numerous fronts. Just go with it.

Meh, the "spoilers" here aren't bad like Game of Thrones. I haven't read the comics but it seems like they've been following the graphic novels pretty loosely

I've pretty much caught up on the comics I'm on 109. There is so much good material they could use but they are so removed from the source material I don't know if they can pull it off. I'll be watching and hoping though.
