Yes...they paid CF to go around to 8 different locations and film fake scenes. Lol

I just don't understand how people are criticizing the pacing of the show and how boring it is.

IIRC season 1 had a decent stretch of boring.

You have to admit the first 5-7 minutes of listening to VV lay in bed and talk about a basement was painful.

I like the story...my problem is with pizza lattes writing of dialogue and cliche characters...he should invest in a writing team.

I'm starting to think one of Frank's guys could be in on it without Frank's knowledge:

Frank was pissed at Ray for wanting to back out
Frank called for all of his guys to mobilize
One of his guys could have figured out Caspere was fricking him
One of his guys could have found out Frank was sending Ray to the Hollywood house
Are we to believe the crow man just hands out in his car outside the house waiting? He somehow knew Ray would be there. Frank our one of his guys is the only link. Or the waitress overheard?

Just so u know: there is actually someone in this thread who believes VV killed CF, the poster I responded to. I think it sounds as dumb as you do.

But you're so fricking cool so carry on

Yes it really was painful.

At the same time, season 1 seemed to have a very long build up and then shite hit the fan late. I think the setting and mystery held off some of the hate for being slow.

The goon we saw a few times in the first episode? Did we see him at all in the second? Interesting, I think we only saw new henchmen.

Here's a kinda crazy thought....Frank's SO (wife?) is behind it without Frank's knowledge.

She seems like she is a strong enough character to get shite done without him knowing. Who knows, maybe Frank's main dude is sharing info with her...like the location of Caspere's second house.

That and McConaughey.

This cast isn't held in the same light as season 1, so from the start people were working with lesser expectations.

Yea, we know Rick is involved somehow. He mentioned McAdams father so I think we can expect that facility to come back in play.

Yes, as I've stated before, Fat Dad will be making a come back in a BIG, BIG way. Stay tuned.

Yeah only Frank or his people (or Ray) knew Ray was going to be at the Hollywood house. Like I said, I have a hard time believing the crow just hangs out in his Cadillac waiting for someone to show up there. So he was tipped off. The questions is if it was Frank himself, Frank's guys, his wife with info from his guys, or Ray himself. Need to go back and look at who was at the club with Frank and the fat Hawaiian with the grill.

The Mayor's son is involved in some fricked up shite, which overlaps with the Good People and VV's deceased business partner. VV exposed his vulnerability in that scene about taking $7M instead of $10M. He shouldn't have used CF to dig up whatever he was looking for in that house, but since his thugs aren't good evidence collectors then I suppose he had no choice, and no suspicion that someone above him on the food chain with interests in Vinci is trying to frick him. I'm guessing whatever the thing is they're about to uncover has to do with keeping the sweat shops open, along with some organized sex trafficking/slavery ring. CF was being played by both sides, the mayor's interests and VV's, but I don't think VV stood to gain anything from shooting his best option of finding out what happened to Caspere, but the mayor sounds like he would lose a substantial amount of leverage in Vinci if his dirty business is in jeopardy of exposure by CF investigating, so I say there's your culprit. The mayor needed to cover his tracks, and he probably knows CF is basically an informant for VV, so the most viable threat needed to be taken care of. Not to say the mayor shot CF, but it was most likely under his orders. I think The Good People cult is kind of an indirect link between the sweat shops, sex trafficking and whatever Caspera was into, which is probably why he had to go.Now that CF is "out of the way", Ani will probably have to use some old connections to dig up some old dirt from her past that will connect Caspere's death and whatever corruption is going on in Vinci City. Hopefully the next episode will give us more insight in the mayor's personal life a là his son's problems, and we'll be given more pieces to the puzzle.

Just an observation reading through this thread...there's an incredible amount of revisionist history being thrown around by some true dumbasses in here. Stop acting like the first 2 episodes of last season were absolute grandslams, when in reality people were bitching about many of the same things (i.e. Slow pacing, exposition, heavy handed rhetoric, skipping around in timelines, etc).

Relax, judge this season as a stand alone, and play the long game. If at the end of the day, you were right and the show missed its mark, then congrats...but, it's absolutely ridiculous to be throwing a tantrum about this season 2 episodes in when last season was riddled with many of the same "faults" you've seemed to ignore.
