I feel like if you wanna sit and complain about how stupid shite that happens in the show is and how it makes no sense, then you should at least pay attention for an hour

I agree. This has been a series I rewind and turn on CC when I can't hear them clearly. I feel like I will miss a key clue if not. Maybe it's just me though.

I like the old school NOIR feel to this season. It's not perfect but it's still an enjoyable season. Colin Farrell is killing it. So much negativity in these threads but still some of you miserable clowns keep tuning in. I guess it isn't all that bad.

There are some interesting things in the details... I'm trying to figure out why the story takes place at different times, despite being linear.

For instance, Semyon reads a newspaper in episode 1 that's dated 10/27/15. The bird guy dumps Caspere's body late that night or early the next morning, but in E3 the traffic cam photo of his car is dated 10/27/14. (And I think Velcoro's partner is reading a sports page from mid-Sept 2014 in that latter scene.)

2015 is referenced in E3 as well. Actually, 2014 and 2015 are referenced in every episode. They're shown within the same scenes here in E1 and here in E2.

What do you guys make of it?

ETA: forgot this 2004 mention and the differing photo.

It's just become the cool thing to hate on this show, so of course the lemmings follow along, nitpicking little things to harp on instead of suspending disbelief.

I like it, but then I can watch an hour show where I really have no idea what is going to happen in the plot without critiquing how genuine VV seems or getting upset about where this is going.

It reminds me of the people who got distraught because they found The Leftovers to be confusing and couldn't tell where things were heading. Well no shite.

That's what I keep saying too. I love me so old school film noir and I'm enjoying this season of TD as just that.

But I really don't have a problem with people that aren't enjoying it. Tastes differ and they are entitled to their opinion.

Did anybody catch that the set photographer on the movie set was the kid in Little Big League?

There is some chemistry between McAdams and Ferrell if they will work together and mislead their bosses while they solve the murders.

Finally got to finish episode 3.

This is one of the only hooks I have in the show so far. Both have a lot to gain to frick each other over. But the whole world has been against them their entire life. Two frick ups gonna form a bond, say frick this world, and help screw everyone over.

And VV was a serious badass in this episode. He demonstrated that from start to finish. Just having the balls of steel to talk the way he does to big men in the city on top of the shocking arse kicking at the end. Didn't think he had that in him.

One final though...Casper called the mayors house a lot. And McAdams saw a bunch of land papers in the mayors office. Obvious connection there, the mayor may be the most corrupt of all of the city.

I kind of wondered if those calls weren't being made to the mayor's son. He was a little sketchy and all the calls went upstairs for business's according to the mayor's wife. Son was upstairs when we saw him.
