Anyone else gonna check this show out tonight? Created by Alan Ball who directed American Beauty as well as Six Feet Under.

Here come the god-awful Louisiana stereotypes...

Holy shite. Show is set in "Renard Parish" town of "Bon Temps"--located near MONROE. Have heard some really bad cajun accents already. I was under the assumption that N. LA. was all rednecks. Who knew?!

OH, and Anna Paquin has grown into a fine young woman.

Vampires in Louisiana? Nah, I'm good.

Basquiat is my favorite artist of all time, I had one of his paintings as an avatar once as well.

A little close minded? As far as Basquiat, he is one of my favorites as well.

No, I just can't bear to watch the way Louisiana is portrayed in popular culture. Have you seen K-Ville?

ETA: I'm guessing you've seen the movie "Basquiat"?

It's fricking great, you need to see it. Pretty much follows his life, his associations with Warhol, his drug use, etc.

I love the quinessential Hollywood "cher"

instead of just doing an inkling of research to find out it's "sha"

million dollar budget and not one ounce of effort put into authenticity. Whatever, let them perpetuate the myth

Sounds like Sandy from Spongebob, but worse.

I will give this series one more try. I tried to like as much as I could. My wife made me keep it on because we both like vampire stuff. The accents were horrible. The acting wasnt far behind. Made Louisiana seem like nothing but bar trash that work on the highways and get drunk afterwards. To me it wasnt well done.

I think my wife said it best when the credits started to roll-

"I can't believe I just sat here and watched that."

And this comes from a HUGE vampire flick fan.

Did that dude call Anna cher and pronounce it "share"? And what was the Rene dude's accent supposed to be?
