I don't really care for Superman as a character and I haven't been excited for the movie. That being said, that trailer is much better looking than I expected and has me curious to see more. Would be cool if they can make this a good movie.

I've watched this over and over and over and I am still getting goose bumps every time. Awesome trailer.

Hope this move does what Batman begins did for the batman franchise. Always loved superman.

Van Alden being in it makes me even more excited.

Wow... that's all I can say... loved the way they put together that trailer... but definitely seems like it'll be a 2 or possibly 3 movie-series.

TDKR will fall to this one for sure.

I can't think of Superman without thinking of this: LINK .

Good trailer. I'm sure I'll watch the movie. I just have a hard time getting excited about a movie where a guy flies around in the clouds.

ETA: Evidently, I'm in the minority on that.

Meaning Man of Steel will sell more tickets and gain better reviews than TDKR. That's just my opinion. Someone mentioned it earlier, but this could be Superman's "Batman Begins" - a perfect beginning/introduction to Superman.

Maybe on the reviews but I doubt in ticket sales. I think a better bet would be that it beats Batman Begins.

That is setting the bar incredibly high. The Dark Knight trilogy are the best superhero movies ever IMO. I hope you're not disappointed.

I could see Man of Steel getting better reviews but Superman isn't as beloved as Batman is. Thirty years ago this wasn't true. In this day and age, however, people prefer their heroes to be flawed and relatable.

If the reviews are good this film probably goes north of $300 million.

That trailer really seems to be working towards this goal for Superman which is a step in the right direction.

I don't think that's what it's trying to do and, even if that is the ultimate goal of this movie, it would go against everything the character stands for. Superman is the comic book world's version of Jesus Christ. He's a Messiah figure that the world looks up to and idolizes. He's not supposed to represent that average, every day person on the street. He's a symbol for what humanity strives to achieve. Superman is that beacon of strength and perfection that we all look up to, and all hope to become someday. Even if that goal is unattainable, we work for it every day and better ourselves as a result. That's what Superman is and that's why people don't like him in the modern era.

Just ask around. Superman is without a doubt the most recognized superhero on the planet. The instant you see that 'S' on someone's shirt you know what it means. But there is a difference between being recognized and being beloved. I know I live in my own little bubble, same as the rest of you. But in my little bubble, people don't like Superman as much as Batman or Spider-Man because he's "too powerful" or "too perfect" or "not relatable". That's all I'm saying.

And that's the problem that they have to solve to make him bankable and relevant in this day and age. Which will be to make him relatable.

It's not that people don't like him as much as people find him boring.

First off, AWESOME Trailer!

This movie is going to show us that it is not all sunshine being Superman. From being a boy, knowing you are special, to being a teen knowing you have to control your power and not show it. As an adult, I imagine people being more scared and apprehensive about someone who is, in all sense and purposes, a God, then what has been portrayed in previous movies. He is still perfect, but how would you feel if you see someone flying around? Join a cult probably!
