It is with great regret that I have told Jeremy Clarkson today that the BBC will not be renewing his contract. It is not a decision I have taken lightly. I have done so only after a very careful consideration of the facts and after personally meeting both Jeremy and Oisin Tymon.

They are going to reboot it with new people, it's a cash cow for the BBC, but they don't get that the prickish nature of the main host was the reason so many tuned in.

Got into a "fracas" with a low level producer.

Probably, but it will never be the same without Jezza.

They'll try to revive it with new hosts and it will fail.

Jeremy, James, and Richard will get a new show on a new network and renew their success.

They have pretty much irreparably damaged the brand with all this bullshite.

How do you not renew his contract after such a significant drive in his support?

I won't watch a single episode of the new one if they reboot it, and I haven't missed an episode in a long, long time.

Went on a 20 minute tirade because the hotel they were staying at stopped serving food and punched the guy.

I find Jezza entertaining however the BBC did the right thing if the allegations are true. An employee simply cannot assault another employee.

One of the old big the networks would be smart to pick them up. Hell, any subscription based channel would be smart to do so.

Completely agree. If it had been his first issue I could maybe see anger management counseling but he knew better and the whole tirade seems uncalled for.
