He is great. I wish he would do a comedy or at least something on the silly side again. I love his serious side, but I miss some of his early funny stuff that he started out with.

I was going to say that The Terminal has a lighter, funnier tone...but then I realized it came out 13 years ago. Oh my.

That same year The Ladykillers came out. Guy has some comedy chops.

He's great in Catch me if you can.

Not many people bring up that role, very underrated.

Carl Hanratty: Well, would you like to hear me tell a joke?
Earl Amdursky: Yeah. Yeah, we'd love to hear a joke from you.
Carl Hanratty: Knock knock.
Earl Amdursky: Who's there?
Carl Hanratty: Go frick yourselves.

Yeah - Hanks is in his 60s, now. If he goes "light" and "funny" again, it will be in grandfatherly stuff similar to the stuff for which we mock Deniro.

Steven Martin giving Hanks a life achievement award.

"First time I saw him I thought this guy is good, I wish him luck.

Then I saw big, i thought he has comedy chops that is rare. Good for him.

Then I saw his dramatic acting skills in apollo 13 and thought this Mother fricker"

People always like to throw Daniel Day Lewis out as tGOAT but he doesn't have anything close to the range of Hanks.

This thread got me wondering how many Oscar's has he won. Just looked it up, I'm surprised to learn he didn't win best actor for SPR, he was nominated. He did win for Forrest Gump and Philadelphia.
