Instead of making an "all time greatest" list (which no one here is honestly qualified to make) why not a coordinated list of essential Movies and TV shows you believe everyone should watch. I think this would be a great starting point for new posters.

I will update the OP as you post. Nothing is off limits. If a movie or tv show is mentioned more than once I will bump it to the top of the list. And as the list grows I will add genre specific subcategories.
