I just finished the whole series and it was very meh. Maybe I had too high of expectations, but it wasn't in the same zip code as Breaking Bad & Sopranos.

While I will admit season 2 isn't the most entertaining I still love it. This season sets up the narrative that our urban crime and drug problems are not just about uneducated black males killing each other.

Its also about post-industrial America's loss of blue collar jobs, the de-industrialization of urban water bodies and their redevelopment as amenities with high commercial land values, the the good and bad of globalization, politicians acting in the best interest of their campaign accounts and not their communities, gentrification, criminals running prisons, and yes, inefficient law enforcement and neighborhoods they can't effectively police due to drugs and violence.
