It's a shame, America got it wrong tonight. Both of Shakira's should have went home.

TJ's issue was that he was just so incredibly smooth, and on point. Everything he did was so flawless and clean. That said he never really had those wow moments, moments of power which knocked your socks off or gave you the chills. His tone was so clean, he should have been around a good bit longer than he was.

Jake is from my same hometown of La Porte. The whole town is going crazy over him. There are signs all over the town to vote for him and everyone seems to really be getting behind it. I have never met jake personally, but my mom knows him pretty well and she says he is one of the most genuinely nice kids she has ever met.

Last night there was a big watch party at one of the local restaurants and from pictures I have seen from it, there was not an empty seat.

La Porte is a relatively small town so this is one of the biggest things to happen there probably ever.

While I don't think he will win the show I really hope he goes far. Haven't watched the show until now because of him and I actually like it a lot better than any of the other singing shows.

A local sign shop made these and there are literally hundreds of them all over town.

Audra. Meh. Hobbit Josh. Woohoo!

Kat. I'm cool with that. She killed it last night. Kristen. She was great too.

Shakira lip syncing is pissing me off. She looks awesome though.

I'm skimming through this episode so fast.

Delvin. Cool. Christina Grimmie looks PISSED that she hasn't been saved yet. I don't like her (but she's good though). Jake. YES!

Bria. Yes. I love her. She's awesome IMO. Just needs to keep not oversinging. Christina. Figured that was inevitable with her following. But she deserves it though. She was great. Sisaundra. Also inevitable.

Shakira looks heartbroken that she still had two left.

TJ, Dani, and Tess left. I like TJ, but I'm pulling for Tess. Dani can GTFH though.

TJ sounds dejected. Was Ursher on his phone voting for TJ? He is. That's awesome. I fricking love Usher on this show.

Dani = meh.

Tess sounds just okay. I'm pulling for her but based on these three performances I think TJ deserves to stay. Let's see............

BOOM. Nice. I like Tess. Hate see TJ go home because he is good, but he wasn't gonna win anyway. And Dani shouldn't have made it to lives IMO.

Your town must have brought out the vote for young Jake. I was so glad he was saved. He's a good kid and I agree that he won't win, but I like him and want him to stick around. I really thought he'd be in the bottom.

I hate the twitter save. Why bother voting the night before when you have to vote again. The bottom two should be the two to leave. Bunch of hooey.

I'd bet Tess wasn't in the bottom two though. I was surprised she was in the bottom at all. TJ was better than Delvin to me, but he was eventually going home. So was Dani. Glad Kristen wasn't in the bottom.

My not so scientific and purely speculative power rankings of the top 12:

1. Christina
2. Josh
3. Tess
4. Bria
5. Delvin
6. Sisaundra
7. TJ
8. Big Jake
9. Dani
10. Kristen
11. Kat
12. Audra

Sampsonite.

I'm glad Tess was saved at least. Audra might end up going a lot further than I expect, well, she already has.

Like on the contestants? Or arse kissing? I didn't really notice much outside of an awkward hug or two, but I was watching in hella FFWD though.

And that's the problem. There is no "wow" moment in "Waiting for the Word to Change." There aren't any huge notes to be sung. And I agree, he has a great tone and sounds good. But you need a song with some vocal range to show off your capabilities every week. Song choice is so so important.

I don't really have a quarrel with the results last night.

When Delvin stays under control, his voice is amazing.

Josh is my favorite, I think.

$$$$
Only way to encourage people to watch live and milk the sponsors for more ad money

For those that give zero shits about voting and will watch the shows in 1/3 of the time it would take to watch live (<--------), it's of no consequence and just redundant

When Audra is on, she sounds really good. On body of work, Tess deserved to stay. I never was into Dani, just something about her voice and demeanor didn't click with me, and her song choice IMO was lame.

Any chick that can overcome a bad Heart song choice deserves to advance. Sisaundra, like many before her on the show with a huge voice and wide range, is going to be rejected for oversinging, it just becomes so tiring song after song.

I got, in no particular order:
Josh, Christina, Audra, Bria (more restraint could greatly enhance Bria's prospects)

Does Shakira have a good voice? If she were heavy and very average looking would she be successful if she was starting her career now? I have my doubts. She actually sounded pretty good on the duet with Blake on a recent country music award a few weeks ago, but that performance last night was a shite show.

Sassaundra or whatever her name is, is the Tess of last season, this season.

I agree on Shakira. I didn't like her voice at all on that song. I kept thinking "baby talk". Good song with a different voice. I figured all you guys had to take a cold shower after watching her.

Didn't watch, fast forwarded to the last results then watched the final performances.

Definitely getting bored with the format of the show, the early rounds dragging on has killed my interest in the live shows. Might be my last season.

I was going to do my usual in-progress stream-of-thought post, but the site was down while I was watching, so just going to have to go off memory here...

Considering only two were being axed that meant (to me) Christina, Josh and Sisaundra were no-brainers. I felt really comfortable with Tess staying and just KNEW Jake was a goner.

I was very wrong on the last two points. Jake has done well over the course of the show with Monday night being the exception, I guess that and his personality helped carry him.

Dani was one I had pegged as being a possible elimination. Her song was just meh and she had some issues. TJ was good, but he seemed like he always held back too much. It was like he was focusing too much on the technicalities and not enough on feeling the songs. He seemed to come out of that shell a bit on his last song but it was too little too late.

"Shak" and her new song...

1. Obvious lip sync if obvious, especially when she can't decide whether she wants to do the front voice or the background "oooo" and goes back and forth because of it.

2. I have never been a fan of that back-of-the-sinuses/throat thing she does and this song was fuuuuuuuull of that, and it was in all the wrong places.

Like someone trilling or humming through marbles in their throat, it ain't "vibrato" (she didn't do any of that in the prior mentioned duet). I have never been able to take her seriously as a singer, but kudos on her ability to make $$$$$$$$$$$$$ + she seems like a good person.

Bump

So far, Kat was good. I love the sing. She performed it well, but I felt it came off as more of a cover.

Tess was really good. I don't know the song.

Audra did a great job. Has some nice moments. Probably her best and way better than the first two. Surprised me.
