I'm literally speechless after watching that movie

Ditto. Just got back to me hotel and I literally have no words for what I saw.

I don't know whether I loved it or hated it at this point. It's nowhere in the middle.

It's a masterpiece, it will hold up over time.

Our grandkids will watch like we watch 2001

Spoilers................

So... if advanced/evolved humans built this tesseract thing so that Cooper could send the info to Murph to finish the equation and save humanity...

How did humanity save itself the first time? Weren't they 2 generations away from dying?

Also- these future evolved humans.. are the descendants of Brand's colony or the now space faring humans? Or both?

I assume they link up at some point- but clearly to this point, they haven't linked up yet because Coop is going to see her? Or maybe that have and he is going to see her. And maybe her colony is now not needed?

Or did the singularity kill him? Lazarus?

The bedroom was his children's faces flashing before his eyes before death. His communication was his survival instinct.

The black hole itself allowed the bend in time/gravity to make this possible

He was Lazarus not Matt d

No tesseract, that was death

SPOILERS!!!!!

I'm going by LOST time travel rules, in that "Whatever Happened, Happened". It's on an infinite loop, but then again the 5 dimensional beings that humanity eventually evolves into have no perception of there being a difference.

I'm guessing space faring or both. Can't just be Brand's colony since someone had to have opened the wormhole in the first place for Brand's colony to get to the other side.

Keep in mind that by going that close to the black hole, Brand is also still young at this time. She went really close to it, which means time went by even faster for her than it did while they were on the wave planet. Brand likely just sent out her signal, which is why Murph tells Cooper to go find her.

Both. The humans in orbit around Saturn eventually make it to Brand's colony and start a new civilization there, which leads to the evolved nature of humanity that Cooper runs into within the black hole. What happens there is something that was mentioned in Fermi's Paradox. It theorizes that there are civilizations out there who are so advanced that they have managed to transcend the dimensions that we know of. And that's why we have yet to run into intelligent life. Because they are far too advanced for us to see.

In essence, that is the message Nolan is trying to give us in Interstellar. We are explorers and pioneers who will only advance our civilization through the successful colonization and exploration of deep space.

That is kind of what I am hung up on.

I am trying to wrap my mind around it, I really am.

But, wouldn't humans have just died off? There is no way we survive without help of our future selves, but if we don't survive, there is no future selves.

I need to watch it again

I really think my theory works.

And they provide numerous clues

Eta: also the black hole was the other side of the wormhole by Saturn. That's where they picked him up

I saw it in a regular theater and I think I'm glad I did. Some friends want to go watch it in IMAX in Austin and I like the idea of being able to enjoy the beauty of it without having to wrap my brain around the plot for the first time.

The wormhole is not a naturally occurring to phenomenon but it is connected to a black hole. Future and past out of sequence. Future cooper communicates with present while on past mission. Wow. Just wow!
