I really like the Zod/Thanos matchup but the Darkseid/Mephisto one kind of blows. Mephisto probably shouldn't have been in this tourney in the first place but Mr. Sinister and Cyclops are sitting home playing spades so this is all meaningless anyway.

This is where I kind of lose interest in tourney's. Mephisto has always been depicted as a version of the Devil himself. He's the fricking Devil. Darkseid may be a "New God" but Mephisto is an OG.
I love Darkseid but if I'm being honest, based on my reading history, that's how it plays out to me.

I have too much ADD to go Freaux on this but, while you are correct, Mephisto is still the type of villain you have to trick or find some magical deus ex machina to beat.
Like a Mystxplyk. Basically Mephisto has as much place here as him. imo of course.
Darkseid can be physically beaten. It may take Superman and Batmans file cabinet combined to do it, but it can be done.

Yup. One of the reasons I'm on the fence. This and the argument that Mephisto gets his powers from evil, thus he would just absorb Darkseid's evil and be stronger doesn't jive from what've read in comics and online. He gets his powers from those that worship him. There is a difference to me.
In Mephisto's realm, he wins. On Apokolips, Darkseid wins. On a neutral ground, it's pretty damn close.
Oh, and Black Panther once beat up on Mephisto one on one...

Pre Crisis Darkseid was RIDICULOUSLY powerful. I mean like moving planets and shite. There's no proof that Mephisto even has super speed like Darkseid. There's no way he can absorb enough power outside of his realm to defeat a pre crisis Darkseid.
ETA: Freaux is a great debater and Mephisto is an awesome villain, but don't let the smokescreen fool you. And if we're talkin about the Devil, he was cast out by an Archangel. Not even a God.

This. Is. Not. True.
Their are stories where he is a wimp. There are stories where Darkseid is a wimp. There are stories where Flash could only go 740mph. It happens.
We are using Mephisto's weakest time against Darkseid's strongest. That's dumb and unfair.
The OP clearly states:

Somehow though, your narrative took hold, and it's a bit ridiculous seeing as:

List all of Mephisto's statistcs as 7's. 7 speed. 7 Strength, 7 intelligence. 7 Power. Etc.
Now Darkseid won when he shouldn't have. There's no need to yell bias in any of these threads anymore.
