Solid, fascinating 8 pt HBO series. I was surprised, in fact, at how good it was. Great writing, great acting. I did have one problem, however. I thought I would get an answer to this by the time the series ended but I did not. Why spend so much time on the unsightly skin problems of one of the main characters (a lawyer). Ok, I get it--he's eccentric, he's Bohemian, he's a bit odd. This persona could have been easily portrayed without forcing us watch him tend to his diseased-ridden feet. And it added nothing to the story itself; it was irrelevant. Puzzling.

The part I didn't like was the detective who retired or whatever and then suddenly decided that looking at surveillance tape from near the victim's house might be a good idea. Um, why wasn't that done from the very beginning?

Other than that, very good series. The first episode was amazing.

Meh. I was really intrigued the first 3 episodes, but then it rapidly starting losing steam. What I had hoped to be a really well acted show that dove into crime scene investigation turned out to be a soap box for how fricked up our legal system actually is... If i wanted to follow that, i would pick up the newspaper.

This show pissed me off.

wouldve been a much better show if they had more of an emphasis of the actual Night Of. All the prison shite was lame

Extremely lame. The tattooing of his knuckles, the drugs, the male-on-male oral sex....just awful.

The skin condition was stress induced. Pointed out why he couldn't be a big time lawyer.

Maybe.

the in game threads were absolutely hilarious. I watched every episode, but the show sucked when it came down to it. Horrible writing

Greatest drop from episode 1 to the rest of the show in history of premium cable.

I thought we had an all time great show on our hands after episode 1.

Great first episode. Then it went to the shitter real quick. There was so much bad writing from his lawyer just dropping the fact he chased the actual killer down the alley, to the terrible jailhouse storyline, to the female lawyer falling for the dude, etc. I could list plenty more.

The first episode was really good, but the rest of it fell flat. This seems to be the general consensus around here. It drew a lot of criticism on this board.

I think you underestimate how little cops and attorneys give a shite once they have a viable minority suspect to pin it on.

I was OK about it being a statement about the legal system, but it was just done very poorly in a ham-fisted, contrived way. The symbols were blunt, and the prison experience and transformation wasn't believable.

No.

Just no.

Everything else was great, but the writing was just awful.

This show lost everything the moment the lawyer and Naz kissed in the prison.

I thought it was pretty decent, but not a series I see myself ever watching again.

this is one mini-series that had a shite ton of promise but failed to deliver after the first episode.
