Highlight of season 1 was when Phil wiped his mouth on the Declaration of Independence. Happened in a second.

They got pretty introspective tonight. I wonder what happened at Tuscon?

Anyone else thinks that bomb (that fell out of the jet) will go off, causing bro to see it from space?

The obvious answer would be they packed up and moved to somewhere a little more wet....which of course means that's not what happened at all.

I think the obvious answer is the other Phil was a psychopath and everyone scattered.

I thought SE 2 EP 1 was very good. Laughed a few times, especially the white house and bedroom scenes. Really good start. May have been the best episode, IMO.

Much better they are out and moving around and doing things in the states, instead of staying in one place and fighting over relationships because we all know, if these were the last people on earth, it wouldn't have gone down that way.

I like the bomb going off and seeing it from space theory.

Solid start last night for sure.

Only thing I didn't like was how quickly they skipped across the country. They were in DC at the White House, then got gas (assumedly) not far away from that. Then he was in Arizona. Then heading back in the direction of DC. Did I miss something? It's not like those places are a few hours apart...they're across the damn country.

Favorite part last night was when he tells Carol that the next day he'd go back and put some caution cones around the missle.

I'm interested to see what happened to the Tucson crew. Hopefully they all died in a fiery accident. Well, except maybe for frickin' Todd...I love how much the Tandy Man hates that dude.

Also, I'm not thrilled about the "Sudekis in space" angle (wasn't last season either). But I'm interested to see how he gets involved...and I'm hoping he gets involved soon, because seeing him talk to worms in space is stupid IMO.

Its also a pretty obvious angle, because the Tandy Man was a temp, while his brother was an Astronaut on the international space station. So there's that obvious tension.

I liked this ep a lot. I wonder if Tandy will go across the country looking for the Tucson crew, to try and piece together what happened.

Watching the scene where they go back to Carol's apartment got me thinking about the mechanics of the viral outbreak again (yes, I suspend disbelief while watching, just fun to speculate and fit the theory to LMOE universe).

In universe I think it would have to have the following characteristics:

1) Extremely contagious virus, that's transmitted by air.
2) Long, (AIDS-like) incubation period. It would need time to ride airplanes all over the world and spread to even the most rural of areas undetected.
3) Once symptoms hit, they hit hard and fast (but not so fast that people just die in place, they have enough time to get to a hospital or some make shift crisis center that's just not shown on TV).
4) A very low percentage of the population (less than 1:1,000,000) is completely immune.

I would think a long, drawn out plague would have left the world with more signs of looting, rioting, chaos, etc... vs. the world Phil lives in where he and Carol do all the damage.

Also, if this takes place in 2020 and it requires a virus with an extremely long incubation period - we all could already be infected with the virus and just don't know it!

Phil left carol in oklahoma then continued on down the road. By the time he had to turn around and go back to find her didn't the screen say '2 days later'? If that's right, are we to believe he drove 2 straight days without realizing she wasn't asleep in teh back?

I"m curious to see where the tucson folks are and what happened to the house. I really hate new phil too, I hope somethign bad happened to him.

It was 2 days later when he got back to where he thought she had been. Not two days she was gone.

It didn't say 2 days later. It was a few hours later, that night.

The two days later was how long he waited at the wrong gas station looking for her.
