So since Eddie killed himself so that Eobard would never have existed does that mean the Eobard never killed Wells or Barry's mom??

I love this show. 
My only complaint is Iris. Why would you make the main love interest so unlikable. The Arrow does the same thing with Laurel

In this theory, the rule is you can't change anything even if you try, so whatever you do when you're back in time will, in fact, lead you to going back in time in the first place (and if you're going back far enough, maybe even being born). It's mind boggling, I know.

I guess that hold true unless you decide to go back in time to stop something from happening (Flash decided not to save his mom). If would have done this then what happened would not have happened.
Long story short, I like Kavanaugh and the Eddie character so I hope they find a way to bring them back. Maybe it will be a Fringe "Walternate" situation with these guys.
**Side note making a Fringe reference really makes me miss that show and it's true greatness

That's what I was implying with my original post. But that causes issues as well bc that would change all the events of the future as well.

Or maybe Thawne didn't exist or didn't kill Wells on Earth 2 and that's how we get a Wells/Cavanagh return.

Best to not even think about it. Just except whatever crazy explanation they give because traveling back in time causes way too many paradoxes for it to even be reasonably explained.

Laurel is fine. Iris is a bitch though. As long as they don't make Iris dating Barry like Felicity dating Oliver it'll be fine though.
