I finally just watched this 3+ hour movie for the 1st time on my phone. I believe it's going to stick with me for a while. That was incredible. That's the first silent film I've ever seen.

I can understand why blacks wouldn't like it but you have to appreciate such a good film. The Lincoln assassination couldn't have been done any better. That was intense.

What's everyone's thoughts on the movie? I saw y'all talking about it in another thread one time and finally got to see it. Wasn't planning on but watching maybe 30 min but I couldn't stop watching it.

I couldn't imagine watching a 3 hour movie on a phone. That sounds like an awful experience.

And not just any movie, a silent film that you have to watch constantly or you'll even end up missing the dialogue.
Also, having to read all the dialogue on a small screen.

I watched it with some friends once and we ended up fast forwarding through a lot. I can't imagine watching the whole thing in a theater or on a phone.

I guess it has historical relevance for being the first great epic, and for telling a story about the KKk at a time when the country still had divided thoughts on its role. Supposedly, even Woodrow Wilson was a fan.

It didn't have very much written dialogue to read. It was a good experience. Rarely do I just get lost in a movie like that. I'll watch it again on the big screen in a year or two.

I think my eyes would bleed if I did this.

Also, my phone would die

Had it on the charger. Also had to spend $90 on extra data. Ha. Like I said, I couldn't stop watching. It's now in my top 3 favs.

I think you just need to keep telling people that, and you'll have no problems in life.

Do you don't have a tablet, a computer or even a laptop.

Fwiw I have this on DVD. It's a well shot movie.but making the heroes the kkk doesn't go over well today.

While the movie was fantastic for its historical importance in film making. It is part of the skewed revisionist history of Reconstruction. The movie is flat out racist and is just a brick in the wall of racial problems we have in the US.
