Not really. They have a section where you can see the point value of a movie: they also make a big deal about the certified fresh which is a combination of very high percentage point of positive reviews and favorable user reviews.

'Terminator Genisys' Makes 'Terminator Salvation' Look Like 'Terminator 2: Judgment Day'

Ouch

Forbes review
quote:

Terminator Genisys, which is about as bad but exponentially less engaging, falls into the Amazing Spider-Man/Nightmare On Elm Street trap of telling a story we’ve mostly already seen in a greatly inferior fashion. In the days to come, should I ever want to watch a Terminator film, I might choose one of James Cameron’s first two masterpieces, I might choose Jonathan Mostow’s underrated third entry, or I might even give McG’s future war sequel another shot. But I can’t imagine I will ever choose to revisit Terminator Genisys, which is a relentlessly unenjoyable variation of past/future glories. Why sample the knock-off, when you can savor the original?

No one should be surprised. PG-13 + Dany as Sarah Connor + no James Cameron = fail.

Chasing is entertaining. Entertaining makes money. War doesn't make as much money. End of War means end of making money. See where I'm going with this?

Except we don't know the rest of the story...we have no clue if the humans win.

They really missed the boat with Salvation.

Me and my brother were talking about it the other day. If this scuks, then in my mind and forever on, I will feel that T2 ended with the alternate ending where Sarah states "Aug 29th 1997 came and went like any other day, it was a Tuesday..... " Two movies and done, both sequels sucked. I want to give this a chance, because I grew up cheering for Arnold, but man my hopes are low.

Dany as Sarah Connor

This is one of the things I don't really see as an issue considering Linda Hamilton was never really all that great of an actress in either of the 2 Terminator films.

I got to meet Jason Clarke while he was in town filming.
Nice guy, IMO.

I thought the TV show was pretty good... even with Brian Austin Green in it. Wish they hadn't cancelled it.

ticks me off too, because they had just started a story line that the T-1000s not only can think for themselves, that they also support the Humans in the war.
Damn I needed one more season.

They actually have a reason for this. It's a stupid reason but a reason none the less.

Anything above a 60 on metacritic is usually worth seeing.

Yep. For the most part that system is almost full proof. Except every now and then you get a movie like Avatar. *sigh*

spot on.

i've seen some good movies that had a low RT score and that had a low metacritic score. but usually not when they both are low.

interesting list where RT misses the mark

Very cool link. Thanks very much.

Also, another thing I found strange about the terminator scores is that the RT score was lower than the metascore. And obviously MUCH MUCH lower. I'm just used to seeing RT scores always being a little higher than metacritic. So when you've got RT putting the movie down that bad, the movie probably stinks.

You lost all credibility when you said metacritic.

Hey now, I'm not saying it's perfect or infallible. It's just good to use multiple sources. But for the sake of discussion, what are some of the things you dislike about metacritic?

Well duh. Sarah Conner wasn't hot. Khaleesi was a terrible choice to play her.

Should've just gone
-Judgement Day(but no Nick Stahl)
-War(No half man/half robot stuff and Connor isn't a little bitch in the resistance)
-End of War

Ideally, and I've said this since T3 came out, the only other Terminator movies that should have been made was post Judgement Day (future war) leading up until the point where John Connor sends Kyle Reece into the time machine to go back and protect Sara Conner. Thus completing the circle (the whole causal loop thing). But leave it to Hollywood to ruin shite.

T3 actually was not that bad IMO. It was just poorly executed and the casting choices were awful. The whole part about Judgement Day being inevitable is actually a necessary part of the story. I would've had T3 be a post Judgement Day setting explaining that. Then from there go into the war up until the first Terminator and Kyle Reece enter the time machines. That would have been a very satisfying end to the franchise IMO. Any further films showing the resistance actually winning the war would just be lagniappe. But I wouldn't be opposed to it.

I'll see this movie only because I'm a Terminator nerd. But it looks dumb and I don't like where they took the story.

2019 can't come soon enough (when Cameron gets the license back).
