Yeah - glad to know my instincts are good and Cameron is full of shite.

Terminator just like Die Hard has gone from really good to really bad

I'll still watch no doubt

No way it can be as bad as T3

What issue do you have with RT? They don't review the movies.

A lot of people put too much weight on RT scores. They aren't the end-all be-all of movie rating sites but that's often where people go to first to quote a movie's rating. There's other places that are considered more "reliable" (I guess that's the best word?), such as metacritic.com. But I also wouldn't treat that as the end-all be-all of movie rating sites either.
But if anyone is interested in the metascore... it's a 38 right now. LINK
Edit: imdb user rating has it listed at 7.8

Additionally, if the score on metacritic is at 38 and RT has a score of 17%, then the movie is probably shite.
I just don't understand: if the previous movies in a franchise sucked bad enough to prompt a reboot, then why the frak would a studio not go all out and make damn sure that the reboot is a commercial and critical success? At least Disney seemed to have made the right decision to get Kasdan to write star wars, and Abrams/Johnson as directors.
^^Pretty sure someone will blast me for that last sentence.

I guess I always assumed that it was the best place to go because it was taking a collection of other people's reviews, not reviewing it themselves. Is it because of the reviews it actually pulls from?

I don't understand why they have to keep bringing Arnold back. Are we saying the franchise can't live without him?

The people I've talked to who don't like RT, state that it has a lot of reviews from respected critics, but anyone can basically create a review for a movie on that site and have it affect the score. Essentially, you could have some people with really shitty tastes in movies bloating the score for a film.
The flip side of that argument is that sometimes the major critics (like the ones on metacritic) aren't always great judges of film either. I usually like to take both scores into account. But with the price of movies these days, if it's not at least a 70 I'm not taking time to see it.

Good question. My guess is that he's basically going to bring the viewers.

How did you get that out of what I said?
I just don't decide on whether I want or will see a movie based on RT. I think it's kind of dumb whenever I see someone excited to see a movie and then it gets a shitty RT score and they go "AWW DAMN I GUESS IT SUCKS AND I WONT GO SEE IT".

Anything below a 40 on metacritic is likely terrible.
Anything above a 60 on metacritic is usually worth seeing.

spot on.
i've seen some good movies that had a low RT score and that had a low metacritic score. but usually not when they both are low.
interesting list where RT misses the mark

Well if every reviewer gives a movie 3/5, it will show up on RT as 100%. So it can be a misleading metric for sure.

Probably - and FTR, Arnold is pushing 70. It was a good run, but he's going to have to be in grandfatherly roles from now on.

You lost all credibility when you said metacritic.
Posted on 6/26/15 at 9:41 am to RollTide1987
17% seems a little high to me.
