Bourdain is good but he gets too pretentious for me at times. His social awkwardness makes me cringe at times too.

He's one of the few people that looks uncomfortable when he smiles

Pretentious? No. I saw him like 5 years ago when he toured and stopped at New Orleans. Dude was the most humble tv personality I've ever seen before.

I think in terms of food he's pretentious. If you watch any of his shows you can get that vibe.

I don't catch SVP on TV very often but used to listen to him on radio in the afternoons. That radio show has gone to absolute shite since he left it.

Bourdain can be a typical New York Douchebag at times.

I've watched No Reservations quite a few times and I have never thought he was socially awkward at all. When he gets drunk he talks his arse off like most people. It may be a little awkward because of the language barrier sometimes though

That must've been when that a-hole told the world about Verti Marte. I wasn't able to eat there at night for two years after that without an hour+ wait. And it was already too crowded when only locals knew about it, and tourist were scared to walk inside.
