I guess if it gets infinitely funnier, I could be convinced to continue, but out the gate, not much appeal

Just watched season 1 again. I have to take back earlier statements. Leslie while being gung-ho about work, wasn't very good at anything in season 1.
I enjoyed the rewatch BUT..... the whole season is worse than any other episode.
Whole season felt like a pilot. Seems like they were feeling out characters and couldn't decide what to do with them. I think Donna had lines in one episode. Tom was same old Tom.
Ron didn't hit his stride yet. April was almost nonexistent. Andy did just about nothing until the last episode. No good Jerry moments and they didn't pick on him once all season.
Now I am intrigued. Did they change writers...add writers. There was a really serious change in writing and character development between season 1 and 2.
Sure everyone loves to hate it, but it is intriguing to watch the Big Bang pilot because someone did a tremendous job of retooling the show from the pilot to season one.
Same can be said for whomever shifted Parks from season 1 to 2.
