George made $4.06 billion on the sale.

Which he then donated to education, right?

He could have still made money without being involved at all. He could still have Kennedy call the shots and sit back and watch the cash roll in.

It's 4 billion dollars. He could spend $1 million every day for the rest of his life and still not come close to going broke. He'll be fine.

Damn dude. Do you know something we don't? He's only 70. Spending a million a day he'd be broke in about 10 years.

His net worth is $5 billion. That's about 13 1/2 years. Sounds about right. Either way, he can pretty much do whatever he wants for the rest of his life. That's the point you missed.

And of course, there's also capital gains on interest and investments. It's not like he's Scrooge McDuck with a finite bin of money, so he could probably get another decade of million dollar a day living out of that.

So, about 93 1/2 years young. Dude's not Yoda, so I think that will take care of him.

Disney has to make their money back from buying Lucasfilm, and maximize their profit. The best way to do that is to make GOOD films. Good films make a lot of money, they sell merchandise, they sell downloads, OnDemand purchases, etc etc.

And they create a whole new generation of fans. That's something the prequels really didn't do. The OT created a whole generation of huge Star Wars nerds. The Prequels not so much.

Disney is as shrewd as they come.

Disney hasn't really been producing bad films lately. Tomorrowland wasn't great and Mr. Banks was boring as hell, but John Carter, while a huge flop, was actually a good movie.

Animation side of things they are dominate again, and having runs that top the late 80's-90's.

If I were George, that would be a fun bet to take. Kind of like Brewster's Millions.

Horribly marketed, but I enjoyed it enough to buy the blu ray. I'd say it was a better movie than, for example: any of the Hobbit movies, either Hercules movie, 300: Rise of an Empire, Conan etc.
