Star Wars Fan theory: Jar Jar is the supreme Sith overlord throughout all films

SIAP

Here is the link with the explanation, it's pretty long

LINK

This excerpt mostly sums up his ideas, he has a ton of examples
quote:

As we all know, one of Lucas' big deals with the prequels was that they were intended to "rhyme" and mirror the original trilogy in terms of general narrative themes. So there should have been a seemingly innocent creature found on the side of the road that later reveals itself as a major player. We do have a creature that this seems to describe precisely... Jar Jar... but of course he never develops into a "master" anything.

Here's what I think happened: I think that Jar Jar was initially intended to be the prequel (and Dark Side) equivalent of Yoda. Just as Yoda has his "big reveal" when we learn that his tottering, geriatric goofball persona is just a mask, Jar Jar was intended to have a big reveal in Episode II or III where we learn that he's not really a naive dope, but rather a master puppeteer Sith in league with (or perhaps in charge of) Palpatine.

However, George Lucas chickened out. The fan reaction to Jar Jar was so vitriolic that this aspect of the trilogy was abandoned. Just too risky... if Jar Jar is truly that off-putting, it's potentially ruinous to the Star Wars legacy to imply that he's the ultimate bad guy of the entire saga. So pretend he was just a failed attempt at comic relief instead.

This is worse than the theory that Ben Affleck wasn't batman and that Christian Bale was coming back.

That theory is worse than the actual character.

Is there anything worse than fan theories? I don't think there is.

Every single post you make is worse than any fan theory out there

I rewatched episode one after reading that.

He isn't wrong. In episode one he does actually pretty clearly use force influence over a few people.

He also executes a pretty insane midair force jump at the end.

He also forces the meeting between anakin and the jedi.

If you watch him carefully during the whole movie, his behavior is rather...sinister.

It makes sense. As does Lucas completely "over cooking" the character. Which he did.

Maybe if Frank Oz did Jar Jar?

No. Just no.

ETA: Not to mention that this theory would blatantly break the number one tenant of being a Sith (There are only 2). Jar Jar was just a pawn, nothing more.

Common practice for each of those two to have a replacement in the works.

If this were true, it would have made Jar Jar a FAR more interesting character (and interesting characters are what the prequels were in dire need of).

Yea, but this isn't a case where a replacement is in the works. In AOTC, if Jar Jar was the Sith Master over Palpatine, then there would be clearly 3. Maul was not just a replacement or secret apprentice or anything. He was fully trained. It would break the fundamental Sith rule, the same rule that at the end of the film they make sure you know. That alone debunks this theory.

Does the link answer the question: If Binks is Palpatine's master, who trained Binks?

Give the age of each, I suppose binks could have been Plagues trainer, who trained palpatine only to be killed by him, who could have been further trained by binks.

The real question, where does binks end up?
