Sounds like the episode went over your head.

It's certainly up there. The redheaded cow episode a couple seasons back when they usher in the world-peace with Van Halen and it cuts between shots of the crowd and then actual protests as if they're partying is one of my all-time favorites.

This episode was kind of a 4 or 5 out of 10 for me.

With the new continuity-style episodes, though, certain episodes are just going to be that way. They move the greater arc along without a lot of punch.

Generally speaking, I like the continuity episodes, but every once in a while, one doesn't really hit.

I don't find Gerald to be a particularly interesting character, so him being Skankhunt42 isn't that compelling to me, other than the fact that Skankhunt42 isn't Cartman.

The thing I'm most curious about is Cartman's angle, and what happens next between him and the boys.

Not down on the show. Just down on this episode.

It wasn't the best episode, but it had some good moments.

Decent episode. I enjoy the story arc episodes but the best ones are always standalone.

Me personally, Im loving the continuity that they did last season and this season. I feel like the first half of last season kept a very delicate balance of continuity and standalone content which was very nice. Last nights episode was just a setup episode which can be respected, but it didnt blow me away like the first episode did.

Looking for big things to come. Gender wars, Recent riots, politicians, politicians falling out... Trey and Matt have a lot of material to work with.

It's a nice touch and raises an interesting thought on trolls. They all aren't teenage boys who can't get their dicks wet. Seemingly well adjusted Gerald is enjoying watching the overly emotional world burn around him.

The end point is going to be don't feed the troll. They exploit the unhealthy emotional connection to your ideas and social media standing. Don't take shite so seriously, and Gerald's stupid overt trolling is just funny. Maybe wed all be walking on sunshine if we didn't take everything quite so seriously.

Agreed that's how this one was. Although I thought it was a little better than 4/5 out of 10.

For whatever reason, the montages with Gerald and Boston crack me up, especially when they put the band in the montage as well.

You could tell the whole time that they weren't going to kill Cartman, but go after his electronics. Reading through the thread, I'm surprised people were oblivious to that.

This episode was definitely a "move the plot along/setup" episode. So I am hoping we get solid payoffs down the road.

That being said, there were still funny things in it. Gerald/Boston like I mentioned. The ending montage with the breakup notes and the overly dramatic music. Gerald blazing down the street to Steal My Sunshine was hilarious (love that song). The Mackey and Scott Malkinson thing was even pretty funny with Mackey getting fed up and saying "Just do it already." And we even got another dose of member berries.

Hell, even though he didn't have any lines, we even got a glimpse of PC Principal at the opening PTA meeting. And just seeing that dude and his posture cracks me up.

All in all I thought it was a decent episode, even though it wasn't hitting on all cylinders.

That's literally not true in the least.

But then again, I am much more reasonable and rational when it comes to South Park than you are.

The highlight of the episode for me. Scott Malkinson and Mackey were made for each other.

That's probably what it is. The subtleties and abstraction of South Park often elude me.

The scene where they attacked Cartmans electronics and Cartman begged and pleaded: it sounded like something I've heard before.

Was it based on a particular scene from a mob movie like Casino or Goodfellas or something?

there are four posts on just this page of this thread with people agreeing that the Continual storyline format is tired and stand alones are better and this episode wasn't that good.

I posted agreeing with them, not even adding my own thoughts, and you jump on my nuts.

Thank you for proving my point, dumbass.

Let's hope the next episode has a big payoff. The first episode was hilarious, I have no idea where they're taking this, but they have so much untouched material right now.
