not really. your comment was that Marvel cant do anything with Spidey since Sony has the rights. but the entire thread is about Sony talking to Marvel about coming to terms with a Spidey deal.
My comment was about the previous movies. Not the upcoming one. I said that they don't need Spidey because they proved that they can bring odd properties to screen and make them extremely possible. You said:

yet they dont know how to put their most well known property on screen? this makes no sense at all.
The fall of the Spier-Man movies is on Sony really, and Arad. Marvel by association of course, but Sony makes most of the creative decisions.

now this is the whole point of the thread. i tend to agree with you. but Sony is the one now reaching out and with the link i posted, they are in a tail spin with this franchise. Disney will want Spidey.
I do wonder what the play is here. They are in a tail spin, but the movies, even the recent disaster, still made money. Of course Disney would want Spidey, I'm not sure it's best for the MCU, but whatever. But is Sony trying to get Marvel to pay big? To make a movie and reap the profits (Feige is smart enough not to do that).
I just don't see how this ends with Spider-Man in Marvel's hands, and anything else is a bad idea.

ah i think we misunderstood each other. i was saying if Marvel DID get the rights or partial rights or whatever would be able to fit Spider-Man into their universe and be successful at it.

i think after seeing Fox's negotiations go to shite, Sony is more willing to play ball. because if they dont, they could be the next "fantastic" disaster

Agreed. They'd do a good job, I just don't want to see Spider-Man take center stage. That would be bad news.

Just like you say though, Marvel is not cancelling a core property.
