i dont follow that. he would just be part of Marvels stuff as well as Sonys, I would think. Just ignore Sony's bullshite and insert him right into the Marvel universe.

I agree. Marvel keeps it fairly simple. The same would work here. No one separates the films by studio.

I actually really enjoy the Garfield Spideys, but it seems only a matter of time before they die a slow death.

No one knows how much Spiderman is in Sinister Six atm.

No one knows for certain Garfield will be back for TASM 3, which would be the nail in the coffin.

It really seems directionless and seeing the comments from the cast on TASM 2 only cements the opinion that Sony has no idea what it's doing.

I wouldn't say Bryce Dallas Howard is hotter than Emma Stone, but that's subjective. At least TASM started with Gwen.

I'm all about Spidey in the MCU, for the record. His parents, after all were SHIELD agents.

i feel like this would be their "jump the shark" moment if they did that. the MCU has been beautifully set up. this would taint that plan. i dont see Disney making concessions to Sony.

I agree.

As much as I think this could work in another situation, there's too much distance between the two now. I don't want Sony involved in anything MCU.

He hadn't been bitten by the spider yet. Easily explainable by a time difference of a year between the Battle of New York and when the Connors incident happened...or the fact that the Avengers was released first by about 2 months.

The most recent Spider-Man was pretty enjoyable to me. Plenty humor but never goofy. Electro was a mess and Rhino was a waste though.

jesus, look at this article. Sony clearly has no idea wtf they are doing. so theyve come out and said there are no plans for any more Spidey solo titles, the venom movie is dead, and the sinister 6 movie would have a new actor as spider-man. I think basically Sony wants the "Marvel deal," where Marvel makes the movies and Sony has no input but gets some residuals from the property.

Come on.

Parker's dad being such a big shite w/science would have to have put him on their radar.

Plus, CA2 is like what, over two year after The Avengers?

Ummm.... nowhere near powerful enough to do anything about it? I love Spidey, but he's not exactly a high-powered character on the level of Thor or even Iron Man. In fact, when he finally joined the Avengers in the comics, he was plagued by self-doubt because everything was so far out of his league. He's a regular kid from NYC. Thor is a god. Hulk is a force of nature.

Parker's dad was dead and as far as the rest of the world was concerned, so was the research.

After the Avengers, yes. For all we know, Amazing Spider-Man took place while the helicarriers were destroying each other (they never showed anything that was going on in NYC)

Not to mention each of the Avengers is at least 10 years older than him.

Peter Parker is 15 when he's bitten by the spider.

It makes more logical sense for him to start in the Netflix series interacting with Murdock, Jones, Rand, and Cage before moving up in weight class, so to speak.

Black Widow and Hawkeye say hello.

Spidey would be able to handle himself just fine in the MCU where Thor and other high power heroes/villains have been significantly depowered.

Romanoff and Barton are trained assassins. Parker is a teenage science nerd from Queens. Even though he is stronger and more powerful than they are, he's not a better fighter and he's not a killer.

dunno why that would matter when AOS establishes they have their eyes on younger potential threats/agents as well.

that would be a good way to do it but only if they were completely rebooting the entire series for the 3rd time in 10 years.

Why would they have to reboot it?

-The series all take place in different part of New York

-Matt Murdock graduated from Columbia Law. Parker is a student at Columbia

-They could easily have run-ins.

-You don't have to establish a backstory for him, as he's been operating out of New York for a while.

who also has super powers via bio-engineered spider bite.

he wouldnt have ignored what was happening in the Avengers if he was active at the time.

regardless of if he was, after he became known to the media in ASM he would have been on SHIELD's radar too. There is no way to shoehorn him in w/o major continuity issues unless its a completely rebooted Spidey.

That was my thinking as well.

ETA: And the blueprint is kind of there already with the Ultimate Spiderman cartoon where he's basically in SHEILD training with Luke Cage and Iron Fist as teenagers.
