Occasionally you’ll have places for them if they become wards of the state, but a lot of those facilities have long, long waitlists.

They also don't have spectacular results.

Kids in foster care are so much more likely to face abuse, exploitation, etc. than kids in stable families.

The underlying issues creating this problem is the same thing that causes all of our larger datasets to look bad. We have a very large underclass who has developed an incredibly toxic culture of pathology. That pathology destroys and consumes, and it leads to disparate results across the board (education, violent crime, drug use, mental illness, etc.)

It's not an international cabal of government workers. That's just a mythos created for in/out identification.

No. It’s a fact.

I’ll be interested in your opinions after you hold your first born child

Correct. It’s an underfunded system when it comes to agencies that help with homeless youth programs, CHFS/CPS (where a lot of these kids fall through LARGE cracks), and a shrinking pool of private orgnanizations (like faith-based) who used to be able to pick up the slack.

And that doesn’t even touch on the societal stigma of youth homelessness.

People that refuse to watch the movie sure have strong feelings about it.

I have strong feelings about the subject.

I probably won't watch the movie for what blueboy said earlier. The actual movie product is likely bad.

I have a vested interest in this discussion for numerous reasons, but the biggest being that "Sex Trafficking" is being set up to be the new "War on Drugs", and I am against authoritarian governmental intervention in the lives of US citizens.

I have been discussing this issue for years on here.

Here is an example of one from 2017.

Oh yeah that's why I originally posted that solving this problem is going to require work and policies the people pushing the mythos will reject. Hell, you saw that last page with the LGBTQ stuff. They immediately misinterpreted it as an "attack on conservatives"

They account for over a third of the pedos, too.

Ok cool.

I've never argued that sexual abuse didn't lead to more. That's actually a major theme of me trying to explain the "MAP" stuff on the poli board. Lots of victims of sexual abuse have urges they don't pursue but can't discuss it because everyone assumes they're a predator. We have to figure out a way to make admitting this more acceptable to give these people counseling and societal support in order to help them not become abusers.

Also, as has been posted on here, that abuse is likely to be at the hands of a family member, not "stranger danger". So that very example doesn't exactly fit into the meme/mythos.

Subject matter experts don’t actually have to be familiar with

Yes. Let's task Hollywood with tackling human trafficking.

By your sarcasm, you obviously don’t know: this fantastic movie was filmed 4 years ago. It was not allowed to be released by the powers in Hollywood.

I'm familiar with film and film criticism.

If this comes on a streaming service for free one day I might put it on the background but I'm not going to pay for what is likely a bad product. I don't pay for many movies unless I know they're going to be good. I don't pay for many movies that I know we're good just because I know eventually I'll get to watch them for free.

You can see it for free in the theater, if you weren't busy cluttering this thread with all of your opinions you would have seen that posted several times.

I haven't seen a movie in a theater since pre-Covid...probably Endgame.

Theaters are reserved for audio-visual masterpieces. There have been only 2 options for theater matriculation since my last trip: Dune and Maverick. If I didn't make it for them, no way I'm making it for this movie.

Because I'm trying to put focus on the largest population of victims and not the extremely small examples that can be propagandized into the mythos?

More importantly, trying to help these victims WITHOUT creating another War on Drugs and an authoritarian replacement policy.

I don't see why you are against these things.

Yes I have always been fascinated by moral panics, and that's motivated by growing up during the Satanic Panic. When a major movement of your childhood is shown to be completely fabricated, it makes the mind wonder.

If you can't see the recycled memes from the Satanic Panic (I mean ITT you even had a "they're breeding them to exploit" comment, which is straight up Satanic Panic bullshite), then you're choosing not to and believing in fantastical mythology for some other purpose.

This same data existed while Trump was in office, too.
