But that is not a thing for him.

The fact that he is 100's of years old and still throwing down with the hulk and others is a testament to just how powerful his healing factor is.

Also, it is well established that his healing factor doesn't actually stop him from hurting. He feels everything that happens to him.

not sure theyd kill him. It's possible though, I feel it would be one of those "left up to audience interpretation" type of things.

I guess I'm more so defending the creative license used for the film. At times, there are deviations from comic continuity that bother me but it's not very often. I have zero issue with the healing factor weakening over the course of almost 300 years.

Yeah, it's always been understood that he ages, just very slowly. If he's not immortal, the powers are logically going to fade with age.

*And now that I think about it, he has had close calls that took longer to recover from than others:

His healing factors slows the aging process. It doesn't stop it.

SO he's gone from man in peak physical condition who could heal from anything to broken down middle aged man in 15 years or so. Normally men don't do that.

His powers appeared when he was a child but didn't prevent him from growing into a man. Why would they prevent him from growing into an old man eventually? It's freaking fantasy, dude. Suspend your disbelief.

This is what makes Wolverine one of the best super heroes.

I would be happier if his healing factor had been overstressed due to recent events and it was up in the air whether it would come back to full strength. Or he has some psychological block or death wish due to some pain he's caused or not wanting to be a killer anymore. I don't know.

I just feel there are better ways to deal with depowering Logan than simply, "He got old."

But the whole, he just abruptly got old thing doesn't work for me.

I honestly hope it ends with same scene as the comic. I thought that story line was awesome. And it leaves room for him to come back although his mind would have to be fricked beyond repair if you think about it.

Yeah that sucks. But I like the idea of him being old and cranky, and having real fights where people get hurt. He better have his metal claws. I hate the bone claws.

I have not looked at the info but I assume this version will be in the future as he is old and scruffy looking. So more than the 15 year timetable maybe. Just not sure by how much.

Hopefully this is the tone and movie (obviously not same story) Aronofky was trying to make with The Wolverine but got frustrated by the handcuffs they kept putting on him to be more family friendly and abandoned the project.

The dark, brooding, beat up, adult, realistic, violent, hardened version of Wolverine is what most real fans have been clamoring for for years.

If done right, Logan is probably the best, deepest, and most complex character in comic book history, especially from a story telling aspect.

So is this supposed to be way in the future because Days of Future Past was supposed to be 2025-2030 and he was still middle aged Logan at that point.

Is this supposed to be after DOFP at all or before the time line reset?

I mean even if it was just slightly diminished he'd be in pain- he has essentially a poison skeleton.

I don't know if these statements are true. Magnetos powers haven't faded. He's old as dirt.

I never owned that particular comic. Was he crucified by Sinister?

It was the Reavers. wiki

Hunted down in the Australian desert while the other X-Men were away, setting off the whole Siege Perilous (sp?) character reboot. I think that segued the introduction of Jubilee.

Not really. Maybe in his 50's. As you probably know, if characters were aged accurately, most characters would be very old. Even in the movies, while Mcklellan is old, he's pretty much somewhere in the 50-60 range as a character.

So I am assuming this is going to take place well after 2023, I mean he lives to that and his healing factor appears fine in Days of Future Past. They have already ruined the chance with X-23 replacing Logan in the new X-Men movies since he also is seen at the mansion at the end of Days of Future Past unless they do another time warp screw up.

This is Fox, it's going to suck. Look what they did to Apocalypse.

Ryan Reynolds being allowed to do what he wants is the only way they make a really good movie.
