I've enjoyed the hell out of it, and am excited for the scope to broaden in Season 2.
I still have to finish Clone Wars. I like it, but everything that's closely connected to the prequels is tainted by them, no matter how good the actual material is.

I never watched Clone Wars. I started watching Rebels but forgot to set the DVR and Disney's app makes it damn near impossible to figure out which order the episodes are in. Are you saying that I can just watch a bunch of them randomly and not get lost?

I never cared much for the Clone Wars and was one of the main reasons I didn't watch Rebels

They link together certainly
Supposedly, there will be more connections drawn in season 2, but you could watch the first season of Rebels and not feel like you are missing any context from Clone Wars.

it is way less episodic,
is there an ongoing storyline at all or is this like law and order of the star wars universe?
i watched the first two seasons of clone wars and then just lost track.

How old are you and could a 30 something year old enjoy it? I never watched Clone Wars and stopped watching Rebels after about 3 episodes because it seemed geared toward 10 year olds. Does it start to become more appealing to older fans as it progresses?

EU flash foward to Anakin Solo in episode 5 and you missed it.

yes, like I said, since 1984 nothing made by lucasfilm has come even close to the spirit of the originals as this.
and no matter how you feel about the EU, it inspires nothing but confidence about Disney taking over star wars...they "get it"

clone wars is one you can watch whatever...this one is episodic but with focus on a larger narrative that builds.
you also get to see meaningful moments in a young jedi's training, whereas what bothered me about clone wars is that the young girl just showed up "jedi ready"
the young jedi here knows nothing and they build on that...it is meaningful development. There also aren't lightsabers being whipped out every 30 seconds.
