With the way SNL us ko doc nosedived the last several years, if you had the opportunity to write a digital short or skit what would you do.
I'd love for the skit to be a combo digital short/live skit.
Guest hosts for the night would be Leo Dicaprio and Daniel Day Lewis.
The digital short opens with a trailer. It's a biopic based on Leonardo Dicaprio's life. Leo plays himself as a youngster and Daniel Day Lewis plays Leo as an older gentleman at the end of his career.
The trailer highlights many of the roles of Leo and his consistent inability to jab the Oscar. We fade to black as the title shows.
Then we fade back in to a live skit at the Oscars. Steve Harvey(Kenan) acts as host and is about to present the Oscar for best lead. Nominees include Leo as Leo in the movie "Leo". DDL is also nominated as Leo in the movie "Leo".
Steve Harvey pulls the card and announces that Leo he won!! After a few moments of Leo celebrating Harvey comes back on stage announcing his mistake and says the card actually said the winner is DDL as Leo from "Leo".
At this point Leo gets pretty upset and gets in a near brawl with DDL for always stealing the limelight.
At this time The family feud music plays and the stage shifts to the game show. Leo and friends versus DDL and friends.
A few questions. Leo wins.

The stage is set up to film a 80-90s style dating vid. With guys pitching why they make good dates.
Then the main guy goes. Another guy goes. Then the other main guy goes, but he bashes main guy 1.
It turns into a smear campaign as the two take turns filming clips smearing the other person.

Have you noticed how everyone says the current cast is shite until a few years later and they reminisce how great the cast was once they move on to major motion pictures?
SNL has been the greatest source for live comedy for 40 years.

It's basically because everyone seems to love the cast from when they first started watching. I think it has more to do with nostalgia.
The jokes have always been hit or miss because that is the nature of comedy.
Some of the most successful actors from the 90's all got fired from SNL.

Mad TV could never get Leonardo or Daniel Day Lewis.
