Bill Clinton and George bush jr were the best. I don't know if it's because both hotesidenta were southerns but will Ferrell and Darryl hammond played them perfectly. I couldn't stand John Kerry and Obama because their personalities were so stuck up the arse serious and boring. Bush and bill Clinton had personality and were goofy. After bush got out of office SNL and their cast went to shite.

I don't even like Trump, but it just isn't funny. There is such a thing as mean comedy, sometimes it can work sure, but most of the time it gets old when done constantly. Mean comedy isn't really that funny at the end of the day.
There's a difference between Ferrell's W and Baldwin's Trump. Although they pinned W as dumb which was the main motive, Ferrell really focused on W's good traits, his general humbleness and naivety, his "aw shucks" appearance and language. They even used it often in tandem with Cheney's grumpy grandfather to pretty good effect. It was clever, reverent really, and just painted W as an overall good guy that shouldn't be president but tries really hard. It was the right way to do comedy, and that's why it's effective. And they gave him a break a lot of times, compared to the relentless hounding of Trump which just gets old.
China Deal - One of the best examples - Especially when you get to Daryl Strawberry
Gore vs. Bush 2000
To be fair, though, mean spirited comedy seems to be the way of SNL as the reappearance of Bush this year was terrible, and did to W what Baldwin does to Trump. And it just wasn't funny.
Watch the China Deal video and the reappearance back to back and you can tell.

her Clinton impression isn't all that great.
I always thought that Amy Poehler did a better job.
Also, I agree that Tina Fey's Palin was damn near perfect.

I might be the only person in history who liked Will Forte's GWB better than Farrell's.

Poehler’s Hillary was way to nice. McKinnon at least got down that she was a lying bitch.

Baldwin’s Trump isn’t funny to me because it’s too exaggerated and forced. He pales in comparison to Anthony Atamanuik, whose Trump impression is so hilariously good that he parlayed a few appearances on the Stern show to his own Comedy Central show.
Do yourself a favor and listen to this faux debate on the Stern show of Atamanuik’s Trump v. a Bernie impersonator: LINK

Bush I Dana Carvey FTW
ETA Baldwin Trump is awesome. The haters don't like him because they're a little sensitive.

I agree with that. @real is ridiculous enough without scrunching your face up like Renee Zellwegger just sucked a lemon. I find Alec Baldwin very hard to look at, and the poor writing doesn't help.
I also agree with everyone who said Carvey's Bush and Ross Perot were gold, as was Darrell Hammond's Clinton. Those were the good old days.

I don’t think Baldwin Trump is very good. There is an art to most of these impressions but Trumps just seems like a cheap caricature. It’s just my opinion.
Darrell Hammonds trump was probably the best out the lot but Baldwin’s gave the liberals what they wanted. Cheap laughs.

That's because they don't do comedy anymore. They do social and political commentary. There's a difference.

I'm a Never Trumper and Baldwin's Trump is just bad and not funny. Which is sad because there are a lot of things about a Trump impersonation that could be funny if SNL didn't treat him as if he was the worst person to ever live.

I feel like Carveys impersonation of HW is extremely underrated. Always cracked me up.
