I didn't see any bodies even after the hologram was gone.

The middle was a grind but I’m glad I stayed engaged. The last 2 episodes were great and have me hoping and ready for a season 2

I went back and rewatched the end and it looks like there are some crumpled suit mounds going off in different directions when the camera shows the flyover POV of Silo 18.

Overall, I thought the show did a pretty good job of translating most of the first omnibus book to the screen

If the image is real then what was with the glitch to green fields when they were fixing the generator. That was misleading and needs explanation at some point.

The server glitched and showed the fake, green scenery that is seen by the cleaners. It was just leading viewers to think the inside Silo image was fake, when in fact the green scenery is fake.

My guess is to show those that leave how beautiful is outside which will want them to clean for others to see.

Its not perfect but had all episodes been available at the start it would have been worthy of a binge watch.

People are so fricking soft now. I remember when you watched a show when it aired or you were shite out of luck. Liked 2 shows airing at the same time? Choose bitch!

I wouldn’t know, so I’ll defer to your extensive experience with sucking the balls of donkeys.

I'm not convinced the bodies were still there given they didn't specifically show them...

Nichols saw them, hence why she put the badge on Holston’s body, interrupting the rock illusion.

I think she put it where she thought he should be. I like the show outside of Common’s stupid arse. Geez he’s bad.
First. Ferguson has to live right? I was thrown in the first episode when the two most famous people “died”. It was a pretty brilliant way to make the audience think the outside was fine. She is the main character I guess so I’m hoping she lives.

So there are a shite ton of silos. Why keep that secret? I would find it comforting knowing others were alive. It would suck not being able to visit them.

Or maybe all the other silo societies collapsed and went mad max feral. Maybe why this silo developed a deep State type entity to smash down anyone they considered an outside the box thinker. Maybe it’s just as simple as the saying from Men in Black. “A person is smart but people are panicky stupid creatures “. Keep the herd in the dark.

I have a dumb question. Why do those who go outside to clean have a fake imagine in their helmet? If you think about it, everyone associates going out to clean as a death sentence. Why not just let them see the harsh reality of the world outside? Going a step further, if you want to keep the silos inhabitants in line, why show them an image on a giant screen that projects this beautiful countryside? Wouldn’t that just make people want to go outside? Now if I’m looking out the window at a barren, desolate landscape day after day, I’m pretty motivated to keep my arse inside. Go outside and clean? Nah, f that. I’m good right here

Because once the cleaner sees how nice it is outside, they think cleaning will cause everyone else to see how beautiful it is. It motivates the cleaners to actually clean the camera and not just drop to their knees in despair without cleaning, so that everyone inside will continue to see that they cannot survive outside and that they must remain compliant inside of the silo.

I think it became clear when you see the footage of the outside, it shows the same birds flying in a "V" formation with 2 stragglers behind. This is the same footage in a loop, which makes much more sense now.

But that is the antithesis of why they are in the silo to begin with. They are told it’s dangerous outside and must remain in the silo for everyone else’s safety. The show makes it very clear and the people understand going out to clean in a death sentence. Surely there is a better reason to pump a fake image inside the helmet than making sure the camera lens gets cleaned

This. One of the reasons Nichols didn't clean is because she already had some sort of idea of what to expect. She wasn't awed by seeing the sunny skies and birds.

Why does this make me soft? My comment was in reaction to people thinking the show was slow... which it was. IMO the show probably doesn't feel as slow if you have access to all the episodes in one go.

Also, I remember the days of when shows aired once and if you missed tough luck... I also remember the days when a phone had a cord connected to the wall but I don't rehash that and call people soft for using a cellphone.

That makes sense, I assumed she was using it to cause a ripple in the illusion not actually put it on Holston.

That was the biggest clue to me that something was wrong with what they were seeing outside.

They think it is safe and take off their helmet, leading to their death while everyone inside is watching. Nichols was about to remove her helmet before she realized the image was fake. This led to her keeping the helmet on and making it over the ridge.

The fake images were to motivate them to clean to show everyone it was safe. They mentioned others were certain they wouldn’t clean before going out. Holston was the first to take his helmet off. At that moment he saw his wife’s body and crawled to her to die. The faulty tape was the reason they all died.

I agree with the quoted post that a better reason is required to explain the need for the cleaning. Creating the hologram seems like an unnecessarily high risk. You’ve provided all the motivation for a new rebellion.

I'm confused. If everyone who goes outside to clean dies...how is that supposed to telegraph "safety."
