Watching it again on Audience. I freaking love this movie - one of my top 10-15 all time. It gets some dislike from people thinking it is stuffy, when it is not whatsoever. Just fragile people (especially Miles), stuggling with life even in middle age.

In my opinion, it's a great movie. Hilarious, poignant, and sad. It incorporates a lot of feelings and themes. I've felt like both main characters at some point.

Oh, I forgot, a great score too. One of my go-to albums/soundtracks to listen to when I need some mellow time while working.

I sell wine for a living, and Merlot has never recovered from Sideways

Was Pinot readily available before Sideways?

She had it going on. I'd give her a poke.

Yep. Top 20 all time movie IMO. Great score and beautifully shot actually, just don't think people watch it in HD much. Phedon Papamichael is such an underrated cinematographer.

did to the Eagles for a whole generation of music lovers.

Yep but not like it is now, plus you had to pay $20 for a decent one because not as many wineries were making Pinot

"That's 5 clicks, Jackson"

"frickin’ a right it’s 5 clicks. At
one point I had to cut through an ostrich farm. Those frickers are mean!"

Sideways has been a favorite of mine since it came out. Watch it every time I see its on.

Yes. We were starting to explore wines and were drinking a lot of relatively inexpensive pinot noir when the movie came out.

After that, I was almost embarrassed to go in Wine Country and tell them I was looking for pinot. "I swear, I was drinking it before the movie came out! Hell, I'll even drink merlot."

Ya, I remember a guy at the winery mentioning that Merlot got destroyed.

I make it a point to buy that winery's Merlot now when I'm at the store
