SIAP, but I couldn't find it in the other thread.

quote:

New reports over Star Wars’ second standalone feature have the film pegged as a Boba Fett origin story.

Fett, one of the original trilogy’s most respected bounty hunters, was also featured in the prequel films as a young child. Left an orphan after his father, Jango Fett, died in Star Wars Episode II: Attack of the Clones, Boba's rise to the galaxy's most notorious bounty hunter is still un-chronicled. This standalone film would cover that story.

I don't know. Anything that acknowledges the existence of the prequels just sounds like a terrible idea.

I'd much rather see a Palpatine origin story. Have it end right beforeEpisode 1. That could be a cool film if done right.

We need a red squadron movie with their trials and tribulations between a New Hope and Empire Strikes Back.

I'd rather have a stand alone movie about Hans Solo but I'm just a casual fan.

Agreed.

If your death results in a Wilhelm Scream, then you don't deserve a standalone movie.

I've never understood the love for Boba Fett, but at least his Mandalorian armor can stop lightsabers.

I would prefer a Darth Plagius movie, or a biopic of Grand Moff Tarkin. The book recently released about him is considered canon and is apparently awesome. I haven't read it yet. Tarkin won the respect of Vader, so you know he was badass.

100%

If he didnt have a cool suit (leading to cool action figures) no one outside of superfans would even remember him.

I think it is well established here that I love the prequels. The Jedi and the Force are all I care about in these movies, and the graphics make that way cooler in the prequels. Plus we get to see the Jedi at the height of their power in all their glory.

Agree. I suppose it was a mathematical certainty that I'd meet an actual fan of the prequels one day. That day has come.

Because filling in the back story on characters whose past is shrouded in mystery is always a great idea.....

This is the only right answer.

There is so much back story on Han referred to throughout the original trilogy that connecting those dots would make a great movie. And, you can have his story beginning with the events of Episode 3 because of the timeline. With the Jabba storyline, you can put him on Tatooine. Also, his animosity against the Force can be explained with something that might have happened with the fall of the Jedi. Maybe he had some kind of run in with Obi Wan years before that soured him on the Force and Han didn't remember that he met Obi Wan, but Obi Wan remembers him which is why he chose him as the pilot in the Cantina in Episode IV? We can finally bring out Chewbacca and what happened to the Wookies, visit Alderaan, and show how Han and Lando's relationship began.

It would make a great movie. Heck, or two or three.

Why wouldn't a Han Solo stand alone be first?
