Just hours after Fox announced American Idol would end its run next year, industry sources say that CSI has been canceled after a 15-year run on the network.

Two people with knowledge of the situation tell Vulture there’ll be a TV movie next season to wrap up loose ends on the show, though the network isn’t commenting just yet on that notion.

15 years is a long time. About 8 years that show and its spinoffs were inescapable. Rumors have been out for a day but hasn't been high on the radar.

Technically, the franchise is not dead. CSI: Cyber was renewed, but I suspect that they will use it to plug the movie and then not give it a 3rd season, based on it's very average first year numbers.

The first episode or two were terrible. Just terrible. I'm amazed that it was renewed.

Agreed. Gave it 2 episodes and bailed.

I didn't even try.

The franchise died when they prematurely cancelled Miami. It had a campy quality to it. New York took itself too seriously and Las Vegas just got creepier and creepier.
