Same. Episode I should have been a blend of TPM and AotC. I don't mind a brief glimpse into him as a child, then let that movie focus on his training and his role in the war, giving us glimpses of his raw power, but also his impulsiveness and issues following orders (much like they've done in TCW series).
Episode II needs to be the episode III story. Most of the episode III I liked, but there were definitely things that should have been done differently.
Then Episode III should have been Vader enforcing the will of the Empire on the galaxy as he hunts down the remaining Jedi.

Just my opinion but I don't think Vader is necessarily Tarkin's bitch. There seems to be a level of mutual respect between the two and Rogue One should give us a glimpse of how Tarkin came to be in charge of the Death Star.
Tarkin is one of only a few people in the galaxy that knows Vader's true identity iirc.

There's an episode of Clone Wars in which Captain Tarkin gains respect for Anakin Skywalker due to his opinions on how to properly achieve victory.
