Is it worth the time to watch the series? Watching the first episode and liking it so far

In the end you will be disappointed. More of the same over and over and over and over and in the last couple of seasons they cut way down on the sex which kept the damn show interesting.

was great at first but the show has been stuck in a rut.Season 5 was okay.Leary's wife is super hot

You will like it for a few seasons but then it really just becomes so damn redundant as already stated.
Doing a marathon will make it even worse.
I stuck it out for the first four seasons but I gave up a few episodes into season 5.

My favorite show a while back, pretty much ditto from what everyone else says. The heart of the show used to be about Tommy Gavin;s rollercoaster life of whipping arse, nailing arse, getting his arse kicked, striking out with women, then rallying back to the beginning of the cycle. Around the end of season 3/beginning of 4, Tommy becomes very emasculated. Pretty much, when he stops drinking, the show started sucking.....

The only seasons worth watching are 1 and 2; after that it's nothing but Dennis Leary drinking, not drinking and fricking whoever.

The show was great up until the season of the writer's strike. I quit watching after that. The first few seasons had some absolutely hilarious LOL moments.
